Anyone else tired of having their entire team mowed down by Bastion?

That may have helped, but my team just wasn’t very good. Between our own Bastion, Winston, Ashe, Zen and a D.va they should have been able to neutralize him at least long enough to make a little more progress. We didn’t even get the doors closed after the first check point until almost the end.

I don’t really think this is true bud. I think her biggest threat to him is her bomb and a symm lets him reposition from that.

you can, you know, move and shoot him

No, I love a shower of bullets in the morning, it really gets the blood pumping

If they’re playing ‘pirate ship’ (Reinhardt and/or Orisa protecting Bastion on the payload) get an Orisa to pull the Bastion off the payload and proceed to melt him while he’s out of position.

He’s pretty weak considering he’s usually played in stationary turret mode. Junkrat, Genji, Widow, Hanzo and et cetera can take him down with ease if he’s not behind a barrier or cover.

How has that worked out in Comp? Because if i started the game out as a Tank, and then switched to DPS midway through the game, i get an earful from my teammates.

In QP, i can switch to Sombra any time i want and nobody cares.

The last time i did that in comp, it went something like this.

Me: Do you want me to go Sombra and go after Bastion?
Team: Sure go ahead
Orisa switches to Sombra and starts harassing Bastion
Team: WHERE’D THE TANK GO???

That doesn’t work anymore. Used to be that i fire halt into the ground next to the payload, and Bastion gets dragged into the ground below their shields. They patched that out.

Maybe they should bring that back.

1 Bastion by himself doesn’t require your entire team to be coordinated. The Bastion has to actually have a pocket healer, Rein / Orisa barrier, etc. etc.

On payload maps, you essentially have to win 1 team fight and they’re pretty much forced to swap off Bastion, since they’ve lost the payload. It’s really not much of an issue.

It’s really about having the right hero/heroes and focusing Bastion. When people refuse to swap or don’t quite have the skill to deal with him, it’s a lost battle. I’m fine with Bastions, my problem is my teammates who don’t want to even try to deal with him. Usually can’t afford to swap myself since I play support.

But it’s what it is, it just happens. No can do

I dont think it s bad at all.

People will learn how to outplay bastion at the end. This is good.

Just use Hanzo, with his mobility he can easily slip behind and give Bastion a bad day before he even realizes he’s being shafted from behind. Not to mention once you have your Ult you can destroy or force them to move out of his protective bubble.

Attack its backside. Bastions cannot move in Sentry Mode, so can be flanked easily, especially if you know their weaknesses.

a little weird than 1 hero can require an entire team to be so coordinated

It’s not only 1 hero though. Bastion’s team must also play around him and protect him, otherwise he can be pretty useless.
Can we please leave one of the most niche heroes be effective at the only thing that he does? That being busting bunker/deathball comps.:man_shrugging:

what do you mean 1 hero? If you’re dying to just bastion and 5 other random heroes then you’re just bad. But it’s never just bastion. Their whole team is most likely coordinated to protect the bastion and give him the best possible advantage. It’s never just bastion,. Very hypocritical of you to say that lol.

cough Widowmaker cough

I knew it. I knew the second they raised Bastion from FFF-tier to B-tier this community will do everything they can to snuff him back out.

He’s not allowed to be viable according to this community.

*Pulls out pad and pen. “Must’nt rush in and die”

Platinum Reinhardt here I come! :shield:

Bastion is just a terribly designed hero that makes for boring and cheesy gameplay. He needs a whole rework and doesn’t belong in Overwatch.

Did we really need another thread of the same subject? Explore some options will all 30 of the games character and then spam this same thread over again.

It’s because it’s not 1 hero requiring the enemy entire team to have coordination. Bastion alone isn’t a big threat, he is being backed up directly (shields, covering and heals) or indirectly (distraction and team mates forcing your team to go into is LoS), therefore the Bastion’s team is being more coordinated than yours.
