Anyone else feel like quitting support?

Not just support. I’m thinking about quitting Overwatch in general.

Between the negativity of these forums and the balance changes in Overwatch, I really do think I’m nearing my end. Back in the day, I’d want to jump right on Overwatch whenever I saw someone on youtube playing.

Now, I see that Battle.net icon on my screen and think “nah”.

Yeah the barrier nerfs made any support that’s not mercy, lucio, or Ana kinda suck.

They just have no idea how to design tanks and support.

I dont know about you but when I feel this pain I gather my buffed pharah and do a bit of pharmercy in QP to cheer myself up.

Definitely, but the game as a whole. It’s pretty obvious at this point that the originality that brought me to the game isn’t there anymore, and that changes are not made based on overall stats but what they think will make the game more liked to specific groups. I can’t go through having yet another character I like completely changed because some people refuse to adapt, so I guess I have to adapt by finding something else to play. I got my money’s worth for sure, but it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Feel free to stop playing support means shorter q times for me.

Already quit since the last support nerfs (before the last brig patch)
No point in playing a role that never gets anything good or meaningful other than u know 2 sh** skins every now and then. U don’t have any impact as a healer or even a tank, best way to tell blizzard is to just play dps or not play at all after all they only care about dps q times

I made a DPS only account so I could place where I think I belong DPS wise. That way, if I don’t feel like playing support or playing DPS 2 ranks above where I’m supposed to be, I can switch accounts.

Well jeff did say we don’t understand what power creep actually is.

Guess he is right as we keep supporting this game.

All these Moira PTR changes are amazing, people are getting paid to make this stuff.

Yep from day one I played support so I have a good amount of hours on Ana and Mercy but gave up as well
(Same for Dva)

Not worth the high blood pressure anymore so I just go Sym…

I’m torn between quitting altogether, and trying to main DPS just to punish everybody who asked for this trash with longer queue times.

Quitting support? How about just quit the game in general. Seriously these guys suck at balance.

I quit being a “support” when they ruined Mercy for no reason.

Dabbled in a little Tanking and DPSing and then I went back to support with Moira.

Now, they’re ruining her for no reason. I just might quit the game, to be honest.

In any online game, it’s only a matter of time until the developers balance patch it to death. It isn’t good to get too attached to any one role, or one character, because it will eventually be ruined.

I quit queuing support a while ago when they kept nerfing Bap and Moira

This is what got me out, too. As soon as I saw the way they were nerfing Baptiste (even after he subsequently got the gun buffs that literally nobody asked for), I stopped Support except in Arcade, where MH forces me to play it. I knew then the direction they were going to go with Supports, and lo and behold, here we are now.

I quit tanks too for the same reason whenever they did the barrier patch late last year. It made tanking just not very fun.

Yeah, I’m feeling pretty done here. I’m just tired of all the nerfs on support and tank. I thought 75% of the player base is around gold? Why all the catering to GM and pros and streamers? Moira now feels like a less effective Echo, trying to stick a less effective orb, and she doesn’t even get a buff to how fast her healing charges to make up for the damage nerfs.

You see, there’s this thing every current-year company considers holy, it’s called “money”. OWL was a bad investment that they’re trying to make profitable, OW2 was made because Overwatch wasn’t making as much profit after a few years of release, and currently, Overwatch is 66% off until the end of this month. This is all to get more profit for the IP, and what’s the best way to make a profit? By making the most popular role (Damage) nearly unstoppable so new players can feel like they’re doing something meaningful.

Overall, this feels more like desperation setting in for the IP, after all, isn’t OW2 news coming at Gamescom? That’s in a week from now, and with the fact that we haven’t heard any other news for the game since November 2019, they’re either going to re-hype it up, or let the hype die out.
