Yikes, this is cringe because I just watched the stream for a silver 4 to silver4 and all it took was some skipping and seeing it.
Evidence but not enough for convincing… you too worried about the past, but 5-0 should be pretty straightforward.

But most people want ranked to mean something and not just be a grind with no actual representation of skilll.

This percentage thing has to go. Needs to show like valorant with proper sr gain every match.
Silver 4 90 out of 100. Win 5 games. 125 sr gain. Silver 2 15 out of 100. No unfair systems. No manipulations. Just straight forward.
What I’m fearing is ranks and divisions are purely based off of population. So the bigger the population the harder to move?

If they are truly doing that which i would hope not. That makes ranked even more meaningless.
But chances are its part of the new ranked design on top of using the percent to manipulate climbing.
But if that theory is correct which it probably is sr in ranks could be essentially limitless.
Winning games you’re supposed to win = you’re ALREADY AT the rank you belong.

Yeah but youre not seeing the bigger picture here. I do not play at the skill of a silver player. I hold my own just fine in plat games. If the system is handing me matches im suppose to win over and over and over. To where it took around 35-40 games just to move out of S4 while winning a majority of those 35-40 games is ridiculous.
If its handing me games that are free wins and at the same time not ranking the account up that makes no sense. When I can regularly go 40+ elims almost 20k damage and heals, when I can stand in front of the enemy team to wave at them and say hi and escape taking no damage. Why is the system handing me wins but not ranking it up. Either way it makes no sense. MMR in fact has been holding this account back and ive had to win WAY too many games with absolute blowout matches to even begin to move the needle. thats just kinda ridiculous is the point.
I can almost bet money its not over yet. Im gonna have to grind up to 75% win rate to keep moving and hold it through gold. Or else Im just gonna stay where it is. Gonna have to hard carry or try to until i get closer to plat and where I actually play at. Then ill be able to take it easy and play OW not try and figure out how to carry every match

I believe you went 40 and 5 or something close to it.
I watched alot of your games you averaged easily over a 10 kd. With damage and healing that far exceeds an average silver player.
Now i obviously dont condone smurfing but its not even your fault one of your accounts forcibly holding itself down in silver. Due to a poor mmr system intentionally holding you back.
The system designed by this really stubborn or just mediocre dev group refuses to accept that players can improve.
You are better off making new accounts then actually trying to rank an account up. Which is a huge problem.
Im really hoping if this thread gets big enough they actually do something and fix their poorly designed ranked system.
The fanbase is telling them how to fix it and they just turn a blind eye.

I am always very skeptical of these posts, ok so they won 5 in a row… whats their win rate over the last 30 days? Did they lose 5 in a row before this? It’s just not very good proof, at all - it’s a bit like someone saying I saw 5 of an endagered animal today what is everyone else talking about, but they are in a zoo…

No they didnt. The last 30 days dont matter. They streamed it watch it. They were dominating games. If you win games you should climb. The past is meaningless and no they didnt stop climbing with like 14 losses.
Its actually laughable you can even defend this but there’s always going to be people like you and you defending this sad system. Is the reason it wont be fixed.
The matchmaker is garbage and completely broken. The amount of cumulative evidence is staggering and the only people who would still be in denial are actual shills and conspiracy theorists who think that a mob of hundreds of thousands of people are experience delusions and trying to take down an entire corporation (blizzard).
It’s really simple, the matchmaker is broken and it’s due to bad ideas and poor programming by people who should have never been allowed to create a matchmaker.

The past 100% matters though, if they threw 20 games and then won 5 games in a row on stream to come onto a forum to try and prove the system is artificlly holding them back… That is unquestionably relevant
This sounds like it came right out of the flat earth script my man lol, the position of a video game NOT artificially stopping players from climbing is defo the default point of view… A conspiracy theorist is part of a group of people that propose something against the majority with no actual evidence…
The only evidence on the other side is ‘some guy’ on the internet streaming some games, or ‘some dude’ said he lost 10 in a row, meanwhile 99% of the player base is playing and climbing/falling just fine based on their wins/losses and performance - I myself have climbed/fell between plat 2 and diamond 3 in the last few months - why isn’t the system targetting me?

Its such an eays fix. Steam shows what we think and they need to make a completely new matchmaking. I can tell them myself how to fix it to make it actually work.
You win you rank up you lose you rank down. No manipulation silver 4 90.out of 100 sr 20 to 25 ranked per win.
Matchmaking five people same rank nothing else. No stats. No 50 50.no forced fair games. Just pair players together.
Everyone just wants a non manipulative ranked system that doesnt waste their time.

The previous sets were a few more 5-0 sweeps then three sets with 1-2 losses sprinkled in. Ive mainly played 2 heroes in this experiment and this season as a whole for the most part. Both showing 65%+ win rates in game. I have also streamed entire play sessions but I dont have those anymore. Ive streamed on my higher ranked accounts as well that people say dont exist. Im old, I have no real reason to care about rank other than this system, kinda broken. Like way worse than any ive ever seen. Im not gaining clout with my friends by playing at higher ranks in a game. I’m one of the few without teenage kids that even still plays games. I game with my friends kids more than my friends lol

I’m not outright saying you are wrong, and unlike other comments i’m not blindly defending anything, I am simply saying it has no comparison to my own reality where I have bronze friends, I know someone that is currently in contenders… I run a discord which used to do regular PUG games and I am VERY familiar with skill difference
I’ve seen people get boosted/throw/smurf etc live on streams (actual people in my discord, not streamers), I have seen how easy it is for one person to climb/degrade someone elses account based on their own true skill level, i’ve seen people get stuck, receive advice, some of them climb some of them don’t - i’ve played on a friends GM account and got destroyed 
The point I am making is as soon as someone of much higher/lower skill level is introduced, the stats change, pretty quickly… And to me if that is proveable then the system is working just fine… and it SEEMS like the people making the most noise, are the ones that are ‘stuck’
With all that said do you plan on streaming again? Might tune in live

I hope i have that kind of energy in fifteen years. Being 45 and being better than 60 percent of the player base is very impressive.
And on your main you will hit diamond. I feel confident in that. Putting yourself in that top 15 percent.

Yes, they should hire you as a consultant to fix their matchmaking. The current devs would say “it will never work because blah blah,” yeah, there would be issues but far less and at least the issues would be organic instead of fake and forced.
The way you just described it is how matchmaking worked for years before this new age algo garbage came along so nobody can tell me it won’t work, it already has!!

I’ve always been really passionate about gaming. I never grew out of it. Now I work a lot with editing and 3D modeling/animation so it all just kinda goes hand in hand hah.
Also for those keeping track apparently I had a loss from last time I played this account. But its now 3-1 in plat 4. but last three were wins 17-2 elims 6K? damage 8k heals if I remember on this last win. All around a low numbers game so not impressive looking.
