How are you still getting loss streaks when you quit the game?
You lost all credibility with this post. Grand masters are like 1% of the player base. Theses players are super talented at the game. Basing opinions of Overwatch on top 500 players is pure foolishness.
And yes forced losses are real. When you have a leaver even though your team was winning, that is a forced loss. When your Reinhardt keeps charging in on low health and dying inspite your best attempts to keep him healed and won’t listen to you and keeps feeding enemy ult charges, that is forced loss. When your team ignores your pleas for a balanced composition, and leaves you hanging as the only support and no tanks on team, that is a forced loss.
Bottom line. Please stop basing what you think 99% players should be able to accomplish on the actions of 1% of the player base. America has thousands of people who are self made millionaires. Shoduld i tell my parents that they are losers for not earning milllions and leaving me large inheritance? No because you don’t base accomplishment expectations on what 1% of the population is able to do. Many of you have elitist mindset and don’t even realize it.
I don’t think you know the definition of unlucky. People are not complaining about match making cause of a “few” unlucky games once every blue moon.
I have zero control mover my teammates, I can only make suggestions. it seems every game I have to beg someone to stop over extending. Please group up. Can we have two tanks, etc.
Btw, I am climbing inspite of the BS from this match making system. So don’t make this about me.
It looks at a bunch of players that all have Mmr lower than their Sr. The other team is players with mmrs above their Sr.
To be fair, also a lot of randomness involved. Even on my 80% win rate climb up last season, had some bad teams.
Maybe it all is totally random and I’m suffering from confirmation bias or some such. All I know for a fact is that I’ve never experienced such a huge % of stomps either way in prior seasons as I have in 9 and 10.
“vs teams at their season high”
I thought the main thing the forced losses guys claim is that the forced losses come at season high?
Idk which rank you are, but I only used GMs and Top 500’s as an example. This works at other ranks just as well. For example I’m a Diamond player and if put anywhere in high Gold/low Plat or lower, I can make up for bad teammates, because I’m better at the game than players at those ranks. Sure, I won’t win all games, but the vast majority of games.
Since this perfectly fits now, let’s talk about what you call “forced losses”. The example you gave is an unwinnable game. What others seem to call forced losses are losses forced upon you by the matchmaker. However the matchmaker can’t know if a player will leave the game, therefore you’re example is an unwinnable game.
However unwinnable games can become winnable if you were just better at the game. They may be unwinnable for you, but not unwinnable for someone else.
By saying you need to improve, I don’t mean to tell you that you need to get a GM player. However you can’t expect to climb without getting better at the game. Just by getting better at the game, you can increase the number of games you win by a lot.
Plus back on the topic of leavers, players are leaving because of many different factors. They might get dcs which you can’t influence. However in some cases, players might leave through your own influence or another teammates influence. These situations can be avoided if you keep a positive mind and always encourage your teammates, calm toxic players down etc. Most of the leavers I’m experiencing are players getting a dc who come back later on or their duos telling us the player dced. And I’m maybe getting a leaver once every 10 games at max, so not that often.
And no, I don’t have an elitist mindset. Sure you can’t expect everyone to become a millionaire. I probably will never be one either. However what you’re doing is basically wanting to earn money but expecting that you don’t need to do anything for it. If you want to climb, you need to invest time to get better at the game. Just as if you want to earn money, you need time to work or for whatever else you do to earn money.
You are forced to pay money in reallife just as there are some games that are unwinnable to you in Overwatch. Guess what you do when you go to your boss and complain that you don’t get enough money? You might get fired and end up with less money. Same goes for Overwatch, if you complain about your teammates, they will play worse, you will play worse because you’re triggered and as a result you’ll drop in rank. See the differences? Sometimes you need to work harder yourself if you want to achieve something and not put the blame on others.
I know it doesn’t work as easily in the real world because saying you need to find a new job if you want to get paid more is easier said than done since the world often is unfair. But just because the world is unfair, doesn’t mean Overwatch is as well.
IMO, everyone can at least reach high Masters or low GM if you’re willing to put enough time into it. I’m 100% certain I could as well if I had the time, but I have other priorities in life. You just need to know how to climb, just how some people know how to make easy money. Though climbing in Overwatch is most definitely much much easier.
EXE hasn’t played Comp in about two weeks, and has 30 total games this season. I don’t think he should be trying to speak about the streaks a huge part of the playerbase can plainly see.
I think he spends more time typing up essays for the forums, defending a system that has the worst reputation in all of gaming.
The rest of us are playing hundreds of games, and pop on here to express our frustration over the obvious and blatant streaks we’re experiencing in game. Just hoping Blizzard will realize that their system is flawed.
Ppl hardly ever get tougher opponents. They get horrible team mates.
You get a dude who plays super good zarya, good aim, gets ult every minute, communicates, coordinates ults. Than you get a zarya who doesn’t bubble others, when you ask why, you realize he doesn’t know about that, has 1 ult the whole game, and manages to make it a completely empty grav. Both had the most and quite a lot of hours on zarya .
Troll-answer repellent: this just was just one (real) example, but this is what goes on all the time. Ppl like you need to explain how these players can be at almost the same SR.
After winning streak, matches with all players in voice by default and greeting + communicating, I suddenly get a team with 4 mercy mains (+nobody in voice, nobody coming to voice when asked to). The likelihood of that is astronomically low, even if you don’t think about how the matchmaker is supposed to fill a team with 2-2-2 players, since the game warns you about that in the spawnroom. If you take the latter into consideration getting 4 mercy mains is pretty much impossible.
I have four accounts and did my placements this weekend on another account. Plus, my highest lossstreak since season 2 on any account has been 5 games as far as I can remember.
And the fact that I climbed my main account all the way from high silver to low Diamond proves that climbing is indeed possible. On top of that I climbed another acc from high bronze to low Diamond, but whenever I bring that one up, you completely ignore it. I even have video evidence showing my games in silver uploaded on youtube and can prove the same acc is at 3073 now.
You’re just looking for excuses again why the streaks don’t apply to me. Look, if other players can climb, everyone can. All players have equal chances to climb. Weren’t you the guy who said the matchmaker isn’t specifically after you? Then why are there people in higher ranks climbing to the rank they belong to on multiple different accounts? They don’t experience the big loss streaks you do either. All you’re doing is either looking for excuses like it is the way for my main acc or if you can’t come up with excuses you ignore it.
I know you won’t accept what I’m saying anyways, so good luck staying in Plat. Do you honestly believe Blizzard would listen to your complaining even if you were right and the matchmaker forced streaks? I don’t think they would.
Edit: Oh and since you said I’m spending more times on the forums, I’m not at home anyways during the week, so I can’t play comp right now even if I wanted to. I barely visit the forums when I’m at home.
