An interesting point about the last two PTR patches

According to a reddit user by the name of u/TekFish, the new “system” we’re promised to get in the upcoming week might not be an in-game system (like hero bans or something along those lines), but it could very possibly be a new balance update schedule.

u/TekFish has concluded that the last PTR update was published on January 9th at 11:33pm GMT.

Yesterday’s patch was published at the same time, just exactly 2 weeks apart, January 23rd at 11:33pm GMT.

The patch that was published on January 9th went to live servers 1 week later, January 16th.

We’re supposed to get a developer update next week talking about the system, so if the current PTR goes to live on January 30th, to quote the OP, "we may have our answer".

Or maybe PTR comes out in 1 week and they immediately patch the PTR with the Dev Update content. Im okay with the faster schedule tho but the OWL will differ from the main game again.

Maybe that’ll be part of the announcement too, that the OWL will keep pace with the live updates lol. The best teams should be able to adapt quickly, right? That’s what OW is all about, fundamentally.

That would be great honestly. Watching the teams adapting in live.

I mean, Jeff has said that they were planning on faster updates as well as a new system in the same post.

Referring to them separately, and keeping one clear and the other more obscure, sorta implies that we’re getting faster updates and some sort of system to help fix things.

Could be something behind the scenes that just speeds something up… but I dunno. Feel like there’s also room for more with how he worded it.
