An FPS shouldn't have this much CC

esport game btw

its quite fun to be chain stunned/hacked/mei-ed

Overwatch isn’t primarily an Fps, it’s mostly a moba

Remind me again what “CC” stands for?

did you ever play rainbow six siege?

its harcore fps… very unfriendly to casuals and you can be stunned for 20sec in that game.

I for one welcome the new fear meta.

New hero with fear based abilities. Ability to cause one enemy to running uncontrollably for 1.5 second, on a 5 second cooldown.

Ultimate is a Sombra-ult range aoe that fear everyone in range so they run around uncontrollable for 4 seconds.

Make it so, Blizzard. You know you want to.

Overwatch is not an FPS.

The amount of CC and knockback drives me insane. I wouldn’t be against a blanket nerfbat taken to 80% of the roster in terms of cc, range, and mobility. I’m really worried about the power creep in this game.

Crowd Control.

It’s that thing they almost entirely removed from WoW PvE because of the rampant QQ from people who just wanted to skip all the trash and freight-train down bosses as fast as possible.

CC = crowd control

It refers to any stun, or slowing ability meant to keep another player from escaping or harming you.

Overwatch is a FPS first and foremost.

It is a class / hero based shooter. Like in other shooters you can choose your class (heavy weapons, rifleman, sniper, medic) and load out (AK47 vs M4 vs etc etc). In Overwatch changing class would mean swapping from Projectile DPS to hitscan or tank or healer or whatever. And changing your loadout is changing your hero within that specialty you selected (i.e. going from McCree to Soldier).

The difference between OW and most traditional shooters is that OW increased health pools drastically and significantly increased the Time To Kill (TTK) versus in other games, like CoD. Having a much higher TTK allows the OW team to add in more heroes and rolls like Tank and Healer, instead of the just the traditional rifleman flavors.

The game is entirely built around the shooter genre platform with the addition of more objective and team oriented game play.

OW still shares much more qualities with games like CoD and Quake than it does with any MOBA. Note the lack of Towers and NPCs.

CC is not a mechanic that is generally used in shooters because the TTK is so short, certainly no hard CCs (even flashbang and stun grenades allow some movement and are very limited on spawn). The problem with CC in OW is that, while the TTK is much higher than other FPS games, it is not so long that you can survive CC with any regularity, like in WoW.

So either health pools should be increased to reduce the impact of each individual CC or CC needs to be reduced in frequency or at the very least affect.

But make no mistake, OW is an FPS before anything else.

Then OW can get DR(diminishing returns) as well like WoW did after Warlocks could fear lock healers.

People die too fast in OW for DR to have any effect.

well why didn’t they just add more disables???

Beats me? I feel like it would have been better to make bash a movement disabling ability, they could have made it just flat out interrupt if they wanted it to also counter ults.

This game literally has no elements of a MOBA. I dont understand why people keep saying this. Is it because MOBAs are the first games people played that have a hero/class system in it? Because that’s been around in RPGs for the better part of what… 30 years?

It’s because she didn’t really need a nerf. The forums liked to spread this rumor/myth that Tracers everywhere are just running around rampant, 1 clipping all the backline supports and running away with what could only be described as the belief that she has unlimited blinks.

I mean she might as well have infinite blinks with how they’re only on a 3 second cooldown which is one of the shortest in the game allowing her to dodge her counters pretty easily.

And with poor blink management you can easy get yourself into positions where you don’t have any to spare and you becoming a sitting duck. It’s easy to watch a pro or some of the T500 players and watch them make circles around the enemy, but what you forget to take note of is how much time they actually waste doing nothing as they wait for blinks to recharge or recall to go off cooldown so they can go in. If you want a real comparison of what it’s like, go play a bit of total mayhem and then jump back into a normal mode and you’ll realize how long 3s is in the heat of battle with only 150hp.

I quite literally just played her a couple mins ago and only died twice because I played stupid and didn’t bait Shield Bash.

One idea I’ve thought about was to swap Brigitte’s whipshot/mace thing and her shield bash. That way you’d have to aim her mace thing for stun (more rewarding, little bit of a higher skill floor, more strategic as you can stun people further but still close, bit more on parr with sleep dart).

Her shield bash would do knockback like her mace thing currently does. You could shield bash Rein’s shield and it would put his shield down and knock him back but he’d be able to put it right back up. Since there’s a lot less aim it’d be easier to protect herself or other supports in a pinch (similar to Lucio boop) and it still makes sense. Have somebody charge and hit you with a shield? Knocked back (but no stun), hit in the stomach with a god damn mace? Stun.

It’d make her stun less spammy and a little more on parr with McCrees flashbang (which requires a small element of aim with its small area of effect and short range).
