An Answer to Mobility

With the constant mobility creep in this game, when are we going to get a hero that does something EFFECTIVE against that? (inb4 cass sombra etc) Most of those heros can only do so much, but with some perks is near impossible. This is touted as an FPS but the heroes with mobility get the most attention. Every game is ban hog cass and f*ckin good luck.

Chain, sleep, ice wall, mei primary, shield bash, 30 different knock backs, trap, javelin, vortex, hook, grav, and a bunch of abilities with like no aim requirement, etc

Like I get that there is a lot of movement…but there’s also a lot of different types of cc

We had answers to mobility for a while, and then those answers were nerfed or removed. Yes, McCree and Brig were the best answers we had to mobility and aggression

There are already way too many training wheel chars that can breath on their keyboard to forced a skilled character to work 10x harder to get value. Hell they just added mizuki with his chain that’s three times the size of tracer, you have to be paraplegic to miss that

I think the bigger issue is that, imo, mobile heros (or at least very mobile heros) NEED to be forced to use that mobility in riskier scenarios. If a hero has the mobility to, essentially, flee and stay safe the entire time…that’s super frustrating. They need to inject more risk into these heros, or narrow their effective playable high-value range or something. And a hero should not have multiple mobility abilities. For example, Kiriko having teleport AND wallclimb. Juno having flight AND speed ring (and an extra jump as a perk, yikes!). Or heros who have high mobility kits with almost no, or no CDs, and don’t NEED that mobility to offer value (Mercy, for example, primarily uses hers to escape and stay hidden, whereas Lucio NEEDS to use his to stay in close-effective range). They all have the same smaller HP, but some of them NEED to play a more dangerous game. So idk. Check health pools again or something lol.

Pressing buttons on your keyboard doesn’t make your character more skilled than any other. It takes you as much conscious effort to blink as it does for someone to flashbang or stun you on command.

Well, we learned the hard way that those answers to mobility just made the game objectively worse, that’s why the dev team moved away from them.

That hero hasnt been in the game 5 years so cant really affect mobility nowadays, i believe you mean Cassidy, the hero that has now been in the game 5 years.

Theres more than enough dmg/abilities in this game to combat mobility. If anything they need less in order to encourage playing more mobile heroes.

I think we’ve learned the even harder way that removing these abilities has only hurt the game in the long run. Because mobility continues to be a growing concern for the game. Hazard, Ball, Dva, Tracer, Genji, Shion, Anran, and so on and so forth. The game was vastly different even just a few years ago. Comparatively speaking, we have a sincere lack of stuns in the game. Giving DPS and supports access to stuns will only help the game in the long term.

Not while 5v5 is a thing. If the game was 6v6 MAYBE this discussion could be had but while its 5v5 and the sole tank is the focus of the vast majority of all these forms of CC its just not good for the game. Tank is already the worst role to play by far, gets the least love from devs and had the least players it is not good for the health of the game to make tanking worse

5v5 and 6v6 have nothing to do with the overall quantity of mobility we currently have in the game. Mobility without any clear answers and can easily be left unchecked.

How about just shooting and putting your target down?

Oh…

Ok but that doesnt address at all what i brought up.

There is more than enough answers to motility currently in this game between pure dmg, perks and abilities

This was your opening statement

It may not have anything to do with the amount of mobility in the game but it absolutely is relevant to the conversation when wanting more CC intoduced into the game.

We already have a plethora of answers to mobility. Frankly we need to take some away not add more. Mizuki chain is absolutely broken. There’s so many stains, boops, hinders, roots, grounds, etc already. You can literally already have a full team of heroes with CC. What more do you want than 5 heroes with CC on the same team?

This being a 5v5 format is statistically worse for mobility because the majority of the stuns we have are handed to the tank category. Part of the reason mobility is even a problem is because we are limited on stuns in this format.

Yes I’ve already explained this.

Youre not limited at all lol

An aboriginal Aussie tank. Has an ability to Play the didgeridoo, maybe has animal bones tied around him that chime when moving.

He is music based like lucio. Has a slowing aura around him.

Maybe it’s a futuristic didgeridoo that shoots out sound blasts like lucios gun does. Hold left click and he shoots faster weaker blasts that have no falloff range. Hold right click and he shoots a bigger projectile that pierces but is close range.

The music changes pace and tone depending on what attack you do.

Someone can build off that or something similar maybe.

Blink is a waste of resources that need to be capitalized on.

There’s no way you’ve compared Blink and that stupid flashbang as if they were the same.

Cass can spend the entire game shooting from the backline in his own Point and Click brain dead way, but Tracer needs to get close or you’re throwing.

That’s the problem with this game, aggression is punished and defensive play rewarded.

When it should be the other way around.
