- Remove one of her Photon Projector damage abilities. This will cut down her offensive power to make her more in line as a support. I vote removing the beam as you will be more focused on healing rather than chasing enemies with your beam (which you shouldn’t be doing as a support). Using orbs as her means of damage, speed up their Velocity to make them more reliable, modify their damage thresholds and add a function to them at max charge (piercing Barriers comes to mind)
- Use the vacant slot with the removal of one of her damage abilities to give her a reliable, on demand and target capable healing ability that cannot be shut down by splash damage and can actually help in an emergency situation.
Said ability can grant a burst of deteriorating Temp HP while healing the ally and self. Think Torbjorn’s overload ability but beneficial to self and a single ally. This ability is a channel so Symmetra will not be able to perform any action besides movement. - Keep Turrets as damage Turrets so Symmetra is the only support that can peel for herself, besides Moira, that can hold a line and focus on healing without worrying too much about the common flankers.
- Teleporter with it’s current and experimental changes. This is where the current aspects of her kit should have had the healing function added but as Auxiliary and not the sole healing function. Healing is at 10 HPS in a 10 meter radius of either pad with no stacking effect. If the TP is not going to be used as a method of movement by unwilling Teammates, it can serve as a healing totem for you and said teammates giving it additional value.
- Ultimate can remain the same but if it is to be changed: HP reduced by 50% but can now build 2 walls.
I think a support sym could work, including with healing turrets, if that isn’t her only way to sustain allies. Maybe make left click heal in a focused manner a la mercy but require actual tracking on the character would help.
I personally like this version of Sym. Granted, I never played the original Sym support and this experimental version definitely needs adjustments if she were made a full time support. But I could definitely see myself playing Sym support a lot if that were the case. Plus, the game is over saturated with dps characters and supports could use a little more padding.
Yeah, the turrets are fun imo, targetting issues aside. Setting up healing zones for teammates to go into (like the side rooms in Rialto or Dorado) is cool. I can’t say I find DPS Syms turrets to be as cool.
Giving her some other healing source would go down a treat. My vote would be for orbs, because we don’t really need yet another projectile support. If Moira’s beam is never going to do more than 50 DPS, let me have fun on someone.
Please mister Kevin do teach me how to type one word without putting (20 limit)
A lot of people on this forum have allowed this idea of support sym to become an obsession for them, so when faced with reality, they will try to cope and explain this away.
This support sym is just bad, it was bad in concept, anybody who actually plays dps or support could have seen this coming a mile away.
If you want a more utility sym, do something with the shields.
i would love it if they fixed the priority issue

which was her original concept from some time, that’s why they could give a shot on tank and see what happens. Cleary her as sup or damage doesn’t work really well, while defense she was fine
I just wish the turrets didn’t pull a mercy and healbot the full health tank
Make em switch targets once they’re fully healed or make each turtle act individually and increase their healing
