Am I playing Mercy wrong?

I’ll give you a hint, they were not diamond.

I really wouldn’t come to the forums or ask players who never play Mercy for advice.

I would, however, listen and watch videos from high ranked Mercy players. There are plenty of them out there. Skiesti is one who comes to mind. She’s a high ranked Mercy one trick who streams on Twitch and has lots of YouTube tutorials. You’ll find more value listening to someone like this than people in game.

Its not impressive but it is better than average

the average is about 2000-2500ish I would say 2800ish is bragging rights since it puts you above the average player and almost into diamond.

Mercy is only a good as the rest of the team, especially the other healer. So at lower ranks you are saving more lives but at higher ranks helping your team score very tasty and game deciding picks. Spot boost.

A good mercy stays within healing range of the tanks and rarely has time to dmg boost if they are keeping everyone healed. Id only let someone die to focus on dmg boost for a visor or blade or something. Dps kids that wanna flank and cry about heals should be muted. When rein is swinging he should always have beam

I think your numbers look awesome Kyeee.

Your healing is high.
Your assists are high.
Your DB beats the average.
Your win-rate is 57%

You look like a superstar to me.

BUT, you’re easy to kill. Your death rate is pretty high.

My guess? You’re either trying to duel too much, trying to save people who are in over their heads too often, trying to resurrect when you know you probably shouldn’t (cuz it’s fun), are too deep in the fight, instead of on the edge of it, or aren’t maximizing your movement mechanics, and cover. Only you know what that is.

So my tip for you, is to treat yourself like the most important person in the match, and don’t try to save or resurrect everyone and everything. And, always, always have an escape (or two, or three) in your mind. The fewer you have available the more likely it is you’re going to die. (I’m always looking for my next escape, while I am flying to my current one.)

Play QP matches and work on getting to 0-3 deaths tops per match. And ignore everything else. Do that, and allllll your numbers will climb even higher than they are now.

If your having issues with mechanics (Superjump, etc.) Go play Mayhem. The cooldown on your GA is faster, so you can get your muscle memory down more quickly.

Other than that, ignore those people. You’re doing great.

I to am sorry you had to play with those people.

Tips from a dia mercy otp who now plays for fun in plat (i got stuck in gold after the beta help)
Consistently healing 20k+ is a sign of heal botting. (Unless u have another off healer every game but still) Every round try to for 1k in damage boost. You dont have to hard pocket your dps contrary to what most people say. Theres a diner dash play style that might work better for you.

ult charge playstyle:
Look at you teammates ult charge. If they have ult you damage boost them less and if they dont they’re priority for blue beam. Be careful with this however. Dont default to blue beaming your rein. You still want to beam who ever has enemies in their effective range. So if rein is holding shield beam the other tank (zar) behind it. Dont neglect your dps.

Dinner dash counting play style:
The dinner dash play style i use sometimes. Usually when i have two good pockets phara ashe for instance. I stay with ash until she uses dynamite fly to phara count to 10 watch my rein, is he gonna fire strike if so boost. When i finish my count fly to ashe boost the dynamite pay attention to ur phara. Is she safe? Ashe uses dynamite. fly to phara and count to 10. This playstyle means you need to know everyone cooldowns. This goes for the enemy team as well. Is there a doom fist? Hes gonna dive ur other supp every 7 to 8 seconds. Be there to help your second supp every 7 to 8 seconds. Its a tiring play-style trust me lol. You dont have to count, i use to because it help tell me what my next move was going to be kinda like an alarm lol.
