What a surprise… matchmaking is STILL… STILL ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. All steamrolls, every match… we are in SEASON 4, with the devs lying over and over and over, here we go with another season of unplayable matches unless you are top tier getting free wins.
And people have already thrown their money into the devs pockets for another pass.
Nothing will EVER be fixed in this game.
I’ve been climbing since Season 1, without a single derank (Except for the massive de-rank we just got). I hate to say it, but actually… GitGud might be the answer to your matchmaking woes.
People who like 5v5 will tell you this is intended balance. The game is balanced because you don’t need to worry about balance if you win fast enough to ignore issues.

I wouldn’t be surprised that season start is chaotic. Lots of people coming back to check it out, people trying changes/new character, balance changes, people “being placed in their mmr bracket”.
I can’t understand why anyone would expect it to be smooth right now even if the MM was good.
S3 was good for me. Seemed evenly matched through my journey from Plat to Diamond and majoritively in QP as well.

I haven’t seen someone who’s rank didn’t fall yet. Even within GM and T500 players. Are some people getting boosted by this?
he is a little accurate brother not just a troll. I had a terrible day of tm8s and bad playing on my own part and dropped from masters 3 down to diamond 5 (rough day bad hangover) and last night before the new season solo q climbed from diamond 5 to masters 4 took me about 11hrs total but it is doable. Take your sr into your own hands expect nothing do everything you’ll go up. matchmaking is awful don’t get me wrong but to say it’s unclimbable is a clear skill issue.

If you didn’t play much OW2 it put you back to your OW1 MMR, so my old account for example went gold to diamond, but the ow2 account went from diamond to plat

As God knows, the Overwatch team will go radio silent, no answers, and in 2 seasons they’ll tell us they made a boo-boo and they’ve fixed it. And to compensate for their mistakes, they’ll give us a mid 1 coin skin.

I started playing Overwatch before Competitive was an option, my brother in Christ. 3k hours. And this my main.
I just stay off forums unless there’s game-breaking or serious issue that Devs haven’t addressed. I prefer playing the game over talking about it, but I’ll hop in here whenever I’m having serious issues, like we’ve been having.
And people who dont like it should just search for a new game. It really gets silly at this point. The MM is not as bad as people claim it to be. I would say its just more clear than in OW1, because we have a scoreboard that shows how unbalanced games are.
