this actually goes beyond what you play, for your own mental health, stop clinging to the past and how things could be, discussing is fine sure but saying so blatantly that their decisions are flat out wrong is enough proof of you not moving along
Theyâre all fails to me.
i mean EVENTUALLY the characters will have to be improved, They cant be left like they are right now, Maybe atleast this will get them to consider more posibilities
It wasnât my intention to discuss balance but oh wellâŚ
Reworks donât happen in order to improve anything, balance wise the power level of heroes are exactly where they should be, hence, reworks are simply moving stuff around in order to open the hero to be picked by more players, simple as that, yes it might alienate a lot of existing mains but if in the end a lot more people enjoy the hero more than those who are dissatisfied with it, then itâs simply worth it
We donât have the data behind who picks heroes accurately either so donât even try to throw overbuff here, devs take in account every single game mode out there as much as you hate some of those, they balance the game for everyone, not just for mains
assuming that the heroes in question are factually underpowered, yes, however currently every hero has more than enough chances to fight on fair grounds against others, one way or another, which means that this improvement youâre hoping for is⌠wishful thinking? based on your own personal feelings as opposed to a lot data that devs have available and that we donât
I really donât see how this is true in any way.
Itâs undeniable that torbjorn and symmetra are blatantly underpowered.
While i donât play enough torbjorn to know his new weaknesses i can say that he has far less sustain since he doesnât have consistent armor.
For symmetra i big problem with her is that absolutely every ability has some sort of cast time, her primary fire has to ramp up, her secondary fire has to charge up, her turrets have a setup animation, her teleporter has a setup animation.
Iâm personally fine with symmetra because i like new symmetraâs turrets and ultimate and i liked old symmetraâs primary fire and photon barrier.
Itâs the same difference of a half baked character to me.
But on the other hand i donât think this is true for the largest majority.
And while i canât determine symmetra popularity presently i am pretty sure she has a even lower pick rate presently so i donât think the rework even did that.
We may not have the data but thereâs nothing to prove the opposite ether.
Wrong, they balance the game around balance, if a hero is underpowered then they should be improved, whatâs the point in shifting things around when theyâre basically the same, that just means they lost a equal amount of people for that main compared to the ones they obtained with the same rework, and that means there wasnât any point to reworking them if it comes down to the same thing.
Sym 2.0 is and always will be my favorite version of Sym hands down. If they had fixed her issues instead of essentially creating a new hero it would have been so amazing. (Yes, I want auto lock back b/c I canât aim) Even though I have climbed a long way with Sym 3.0, 2.0 was much more fun imo.
the only rework that worked out in my opinion was maybe hanzo
Itâs particularly deniable actually but suit yourself
Your gut whispering facts to your ear is not a reliable source of data
I told you, reworks happen to open up the hero to more people
Facts: Any rework/buff/nerf in a videogame is not going to be agreed by 100% of its players.
Yeah, me and many many many many others disagree with that statement.
Facts: Players are the ones who have to adapt to the game, not the other way around.
Some people will never be able to adapt and move on.
As i said the same rework closed the hero to a lot of the prior people too.
Thatâs why it was pretty pointless.
Of course i have nothing against them just working on the current version of symmetra and torbjorn at the same time so thereâs that, they definitely need improvements because right now they have no place over other heroes.
That could be a good step forward, yeah, trying to rein back those who got alienated from a rework, however any and all change will probably throw people back and forth, itâs not something you can 100% avoid, sadly
I dream Sym get bigger hitbox of her beam.
The problem with reworks as major as Symm is you donât necessarily fix any problems of viability, you just create a whole new situation with a whole new set of problems.
Regardless of how good or bad or viable TP is (there have already been quite long threads about that already) itâs familiarity is now stuck behind the core abilities of Symm which is her beam, orbs and Turrets.
Itâs really weird that a support hero like Brig is considered better for damage and Symm who is supposedly not a Support hero but a Damage Hero is the worst for damage but mainly justified by support ability with Teleporter.
The devs canât really say they are done with Symm, they need to decide is she really more of a Damage hero or more of a Support hero. I say improve TP even more, maybe throw in some shield-sharing ability and make her a true support hero again. Because I donât think people are too accepting of making her a damage hero of equal with their latest idea of a Damage Hero: Ashe.
