🧞‍♀️ (ALL SYM MAINS) Favorite 5 Abilities Ever? (no ults)

I try to imagine all the things they may have tried for Sym that maybe be better for her.

But then I debate if they actually tried

Find little proof

If you compare her rework to Torbjörn’s, it is obvious that it was rushed and/or not worth a lot of effort. If they actually wanted to make her less niche and a stronger pick, something like TP would’ve never went live.

I think the biggest reason for this rework was to make Genji mains happy. And therefor, all they needed was to remove lock-on and her survivablity. Sym 3.0 was, unlike Sym 2.0, defently not meant to improve the hero and make Sym Players happy.

I get that feeling a lot.

  3. Photon Orbs (3.0) (Post 140 Damage)
  4. Teleporter (3.0) (Pre-infinite)
  5. Photon Projector (2.0)

2.0 Orbs
2.0 photon barrier
3.0 original teleporter
3.0 turrets
3.0 photon barrier

This better be the original finite one and not this one or I am disowning you.

That’s axiomatic.

  1. Piercing Orbs (Sym1, Sym2)
  2. Six turrets on stash (Sym2)
  3. Throwable turrets (Sym3)
  4. Non-infinite Teleporter (Sym3)
  5. Photon Barrier (Sym2)

Shield Gen would be #1 spot, if OP didn’t specified ults to not be counted.

Piercing Orbs were a unique mechanic that allowed her to bypass certain issues that all other units struggled with. I miss it more for the loss of unique mechanics. I hate when those disappear from any game.

I love the area control of the turrets, so the loss of area coverage was one of the biggest loss in the current rework for me. It was very fun to craft a web of turrets that you could work as a scout for your team simply checking when some turrets activate or get destroyed. Having only 3 turrets don’t allow you to do that. Each individual turret is too valuable to be left on idle in some weird corner.

I list the throwing turrets, but the actual thing I wanted even during the 2.0 reign was that she didn’t had movement slowdown while placing them. You still move at normal speed while throwing, so that’s why it’s there. The long distance throwing with 6 turrets would be mostly a QoL change, since it would take too long to set them at really long distances, and it would still be used mostly from close to mid range anyway.

Initial Sym3 TP was fantastic, and while I still laugh when I remember the advertisement of escaping grav with it, it was a great new mechanic (I love unique mechanics), and opened a ton of options for Sym. Had we’d only lose Photon Barrier to get this TP, I would had no complaints about the rework. I loathe it for the entire pack, not individual changes. And Sym3 TP deserve the spot as the best part of the rework. (And obviously then they change it in such a way that it no longer can be used to make the fun stuff it allowed anymore)

Photon Barrier was her only defensive tool, and Sym3 currently is lacking defensive tools. That’s why this is on the list. I thought about putting autolock there, but the reality is that most of the effect the autolock beam had was physiological, and anyone that simply run the numbers would understand it was not that valuable of a tool.

3. 2.0 Barrier
4. 2.0 Turrets
5. 3.0 turrets

I would of added shields, but because it literally serves no purpose unless it could regenerate during combat. It’s not truly needed.

  1. 3.0 orbs

  2. 3.0 turrets

  3. 2.0 Photon Barrier

  4. 3.0 Teleport (Pre-infinit direction)

  5. 2.0/3.0 Beam (I can’t choose).

I doubt a non healing support Sym would work, not with the other healers in the game.

Man this is tough…

  1. 3.0 beam
  2. 2.0 orbs
  3. 3.0 teleport
  4. 2.0 turrets
  5. Shield Generator

I reaaaallly miss those orbs.

If it is strong enough it could work. Just needs to really ensure that the other healer is nearly immortal as long as she is alive.

I doubt it.

If she really can make another player effectively immortal, why put it on a support when you can you can put it on a Doomfist or ulting Genji instead?

The main problem is that what ever she provides will need to make a main support look at the team composition and think “hey, I want to solo heal this”.

A rework like this would really destroy her identity because she would have her abilities completely removed rather than reworked.

Well, she would get both Photon Barrier and Photon Shield (As reworked Version) back as well as a little guard that is similar to a Sentry Turret. Also, both beam and orbs would be similar to Sym 2.0.

So, no identity destruction. Just removes some super stupid stuff from Sym 3.0 like the Zarya Beam and the Teleporter.

Not wanting to Solo Heal…I doubt this. Why would you not want to play the Solo Heal if your character is effectivly Overpowerd during the entire match? Nano Boost makes a lot of Tank players go Rein and Sym 4.0 would make a lot of Supports go Solo Main Heal. Imagine playing a 325-375 HP Brigitte with a constant Heal over Time…why would you not want this?

Moving shield. Piercing orb, Tele that wasn’t infinite

Assuming you mean Photon Barrier would be the ult, you’re already out of space for abilities, and that doesn’t do much for keeping you team alive.

Ignoring the problem of not having enough buttons, why put it on a support is you can put it on a dps and get a team wipe instead? Also, Brigitte doesn’t do enough healing in her own to solo heal. If this ability let’s her do so, imagine how much healing a Bap, Moira, or Ana could do.

This also just turns her into a pocketing hero.
