All profiles should be PUBLIC

Making profiles public will solve no issues, will give toxic players more ways to increase their toxicity by blaming it on someone’s profile hero stats, etc…

There is no positive outcome by forcing profiles to be public. Stop trolling.

i have never, ever told anyone to switch because they played hero that is not their main, or i have N-E-V-E-R ever attacked someone because of his/her stats

its just your pojection, and false accusation against me… and if you do this about me and my whole reasoning i layed out in prior comments… then you 100% project this to everyone else

you just are to scared to admitt that this coin has two sides

hiding profiles has more downsides than upsides
im MY opinion avoiding harassement is a big deal, but it does not outweight all other reasons to have public profiles

hard no. Why? Why do u even care about some elses profile??

Just this post alone pretty much tells me why you do…

Just because you don’t does not mean that others will.

i layed down a bunch of arguments, none of them were rebuked in any way shape or form

instead everyone focused on emotions driven one argument… that is absolutley arbitrary to everyone and depends on situation

discussing thing on this forum is literally impossible

best thing to do is to remove chat completley, remove profiles completley… lets just have two buttons ‘play’ and ‘shop’

jesus people, your debating skills are so low its mind boggling

I’m right there with you.

I’m beginning to theorize that if you have enough hours on a single hero, people cut you a lot of slack even if you’re having a poor match. Of course, I only ever play QP and I’m sure it’d be a lot different in comp.

Let’s party.

I’m not even sure what someone could get out of my profile. My profile is very old and has mixed hours of hero uses which I can all play relatively similarly, as in I basically get to roughly the same rank with them. And lately I barely even touch the top 10 most used heroes sometimes just because I got bored with them ages ago. Then my least used hero is like Freya and Sojouorn, Juno, Mauga, and I’m not sure if a team mate would be upset if I were to play those. It’s not like I wouldn’t apply what I know from the other heroes I’ve put hundreds of hours on, onto the relatively newer ones either. So, in the end I just feel like it’s pointless at this point. Just some point of contention to distract and debate over instead of locking into the game.

You are trying to apply logic where none exists. I recommend you stop trying.

ye, i can see this forum and this community is as terrible as it always was

no wonder developers wont even touch it with 0.5 kilometer stick

Because people like you insisted that they were right.
It’s true.

Everyone has told you it’s been done before. Things haven’t changed that much, people are still just going to look at hours and start saying dumb stuff.

If I lock in Mercy, or Brig, or Rat, or whoever you should just be able to react to that (in accordance to the rest of the comp)
Numbers mean nothing.

where was i wrong then

they did in high ranks. 4k lobby and a random diamond tank was all too common.

its weird that it only shows in it the hero select time though and not just anytime you hover over them

I’m really starting to dislike the private profiles and streamer mode crap in this game. That along with the crazy amounts of censorship has dissolved the community of this game. It was so easy to make friends in this game back in 2016 and 2017. People were talking, people weren’t worried about being banned for giving the slightest criticism, voice chat was active. These days nobody wants to take a chance at being banned over the stupidest things. People can’t even recognize each other between games because their names keep changing, and all this in the name of “privacy”, because I’m super worried about my privacy being violated because people know my mains in a video game.

no, hes got a point. you literally said you are silver on every support other than wujang. if you got into one of my games and I can see you go negative on everyone but wuyang then I will be less likely to pick wuyang.
if you decide to pick ana and feed your brains out, I might suggest you play wuyang.
if I see someone usually plays high mobility heroes and they decide to play zen then I can adjust my playstyle to either peel for their poor positioning or the more realistic answer, pick someone with high healing output to make up for the zens general lack there of.
now, I can also do this by watching how they play for a few fights but thats a few fights that were lost due to lack of information about my teammate.
it goes for the enemy team too, I see someone is a widow one trick, I might suggest we take something to counter it. someone’s a ball one trick, I might pick brig.
you absolutely change how you play depending on who you are playing with and/or against. honestly, that’s probably half the reason you were stuck in silver.

no one was crying when ow came out. in fact, very few people cared about profiles being public. people were upset about general toxicity and blizz decided to give player the option of private profiles because it was easier than punishing toxic players. people always have and always will be toxic, giving them one more thing to be toxic about wont change a thing. if youre bad they will call you bad. having stats to back it up does make it more offensive.

I don’t disagree with this, so surely, that’s what you should be pushing for them to fix?

I 100% agree with the person who said there should be a lock symbol on players whose profiles are locked though, cos on console especially, it’s painful clicking back and forth trying to see what your teammates play, only to find that their profiles are all locked.

They should. If the feature is there to view a profile then we should be able to view it. Otherwise don’t have it there. Just have “send friend request” and lock stats to just friends. Either be soft or don’t. The decisions they make for this game is always laughable.

“wHy ArEn’T yOu pLaYiNg [insert person’s main here]? Get off of [insert hero here] and stop throwing!”

“You’re trash, that’s why you’re [insert rank here].”

“Hey, they’re probably going to play [Main Hero], let’s counterpick.”

From personal experience, I’m telling you this is why.

The amount of times I’ve had someone on the forums or in-game become absolutely salty, that they go into my profile and read the numbers incorrectly is jarring.

I’ve had people in-game call me a Mercy one-trick despite having over 100 hours more on Ana.

Or calling me hardstuck Plat. But I’m in mid/high Diamond.

People don’t read. It has nothing to do with the matchmaker. It has everything to do with the unintelligent people trying to use it to weaponize against others and somehow managing to misread it lmao

No, more like:

Random player: “I play X and Y and Z”

Give people options to show what they want to show and to not show what they don’t want to show. It’s nothing that a question cannot answer.

People are already loading up Stadium QP, checking the tank’s top 3 played characters and if it’s not a tank, noping out lol
