Algorithmic Handicapping is Wrong for Online Games

Ehhh…. Depends on what you define as “good for the game.”

In one of the first ever Dev Updates I saw from Papa Jefe, he stated that 6v6 was the perfect number of teammates to enforce team play.

Welp…. They were right. It works so well that individual impact is VERY difficult to measure and almost has effect on the outcome of a game unless you’re hard smurfing.

5v5 allows for much more carry potential.

Sure….

But you’re always going to have heavy teammates. And I absolutely guarantee you’ve been a heavy teammate more than your share of times.

Just remember that.

Hopefully they’ll make an after-action report as in-depth as Valorants. It gives you a lot to work with!!

It’s honestly not that bad. People perceive it as bad because they need to find an excuse outside of human error/behavior to scapegoat their shortcomings as a competitive video game player.

And it has been updated and changed “a few” times. Definitely not as much as Valorants though. So a lot of those old videos are likely irrelevant.

Ehhhhh…. Nah….

Yes but that’s not how their match making works. It is how their game design works though.

Yes!!

Uh…. No…. That’s not how it works.

If it did, I wouldn’t be able to boost numerous accounts from any rank to above 3000.

Skewed for his narrative….

This article is much better supported….

Toxic, inflammatory and unnecessary behavior….

I’ll definitely agree with this for certain….
