Aim assist for controller users on PC

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a conversation about a feature that could really improve the experience for a growing number of Overwatch 2 players: adding aim assist support for controller users on the PC version of the game, especially those playing on portable gaming PCs like the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, and similar devices.

I’ve been playing Overwatch 2 with friends on my Steam Deck and using it with built-in controller input. The game runs great, but there’s one major drawback — there’s no aim assist, even though I’m playing with a controller. Since these devices run the PC version of the game, aim assist is completely disabled, even though the experience is very close to console-style gameplay.

With more and more people playing on handheld PCs using controllers, it would be great to have an option or auto-detection that enables aim assist when a controller is being used on PC, similar to what console players have. This would make the game more accessible and enjoyable for players who choose handheld or controller-based setups.

Has anyone else been playing Overwatch 2 on a portable PC? I’d love to hear your experience and thoughts — and hopefully get this on the devs’ radar for a future update!

Thanks!

They’re afraid people would abuse this, which is sad because it would be a great system.

people will abuse it. Its a massive issue on console. 1 in 4 controller players on apex legends has better accuracy than 99% of mouse and keyboard players . Sorry, but overwatch on PC should be MNK only for ever.
