Since we made game in such a way, that each teammate is critical and has to be forced into most optimal behavior, yes, I will be supporting that. Game won’t last very long in that state, but it’s for the best.
as a masters dps i can tell you outright that we have it good compared to those in top 500.
we are still playing in the tutorial phase of ranked, sure we’re significantly better then the average player but we havnt hit the point where things like meta and counter picking really matters.
dafran has been trying to 1 trick doom into top 500 for days (he may of succeeded by now i have no idea) but he keeps being blocked out by pharah+echo. he had no trouble getting into GM but he hit a wall because its so easy to counter that hero.
if he wernt doing a challenge he’d already be top 500 but he lost so many games because he cant swap.
thats taking away agency from a player. its not all of the agency, its just most of it because your putting them in a difficult position between play what you want and “swap or lose”.
eventually people hit a wall where they are finally playing against people of equal skill to them and they are forced to swap because the game rebalanced everything years ago to force “hard counters” on to everyone.
you are clearly under your rank if you have a 80%wr on 2 heroes, assuming that you didnt just get lucky; you’ll climb a little bit before you even out to a 50/50. just wait until they are as good as you and see how fun paper rock sissors really is.
Ok, so this is your position.
So you don’t believe LW should have agency over his powers.
The game runs like this. The person with the cooldown determines how the cooldown works. It is like with Mei’s wall.
LW shouldn’t have an ability that unilaterally puts their teammate somewhere without any care about consent. It’s a terribly designed ability. If I don’t want to be put in a pit or drug into the middle of a fight, I have no options. Mei’s wall doesn’t move me into a bad position, I can go around it or climb it.
I play Mei, don’t tell me a bad wall can’t put you into a bad position, because it absolutely can.
You don’t get a choice if I put a wall under you that you are being repositioned up.
Sometimes that is good, sometimes, that is not so good.
I’ve screwed up and popped someone out of shield space into a D’va ult.
It can make a bad position, but there is counterplay agaist a troll mei, you can pick a character that can fly or climb walls and go around it. There is 0 counterplay for LW, it disables your movement and abilities and pulls you to where he says with 0 input. They are not the same
I guess you don’t understand that the there is abilities which disable pull then.
You can’t pull a slamming Hammond for instance, and pressing slam instantly disables pull, there is a big ol list of abilities which turn off the ability to be targetted by pull, and cancel pull when it is in progress.
and those were added ONLY after there was significant troll abuse from lifeweaver. If they’re going down that route it will be another 3 years before he’s playable to have on your team since it’ll take that long to add all thsoe fringe cases.
Nope. Almost all of them were before the hero was released.
I first saw them in a video from the streamers before any of us could play the hero.
It would be good for Blizzard to release a list of all of them, because there is a lot of them.
Did you know you can’t pull Genji while he is pulling out blade?
Did you know Rez can leave you in a bad position, and you don’t get to refuse it for the same reasons you don’t get to refuse LW’s pull?
The rein interaction you’re talking about was added only a week ago after significant abuse. The limited amounts of walls around pits were only added after significant abuse by streamers in the beta version. If they’re going to do this they’re going to spend forever adding a million caveats to the pull.
I was not talking about Rein’s interaction. Where did I say anything about Rein?
I gave Hammond as an example.
You know I can see your edits on your posts right? You can’t just gaslight people by changing the wording of your posts after the fact
Which post do I talk about Rein?
“You can’t pull a slamming Hammond for instance, and pressing slam instantly disables pull, there is a big ol list of abilities which turn off the ability to be targetted by pull, and cancel pull when it is in progress.”
Blizz forums shows you changed out Reinhardt for Hammond after I called that out in a reply
so even if he changed a name, his point still is valid
It’s not valid though, the point is there is a growing list of interactions they are having to patch in because pull is just poorly designed and rips control from the player, which they’re finding out has all over these cases where it’s disasterous.
Besides the fact that it’s incredibly scummy and disingenuous to try to gaslight people by making a post, getting a reply, and then editing after the fact to make the reply look like it’s not a valid response to what you said.
There is one edit.
The edit was
People can see the edit count, and people can see which edit I did.
Now I have shown you to be a liar… lets get back on topic.
I didn’t change the name. Sedos is just strait up lying. I have posted the edit in question. It was me adding Hammond as an example. And the timestamp was from before he put in a reply.
It is EXTREMELY skummy to say I posted about Rein and changed the name when I didn’t, and I have brought proof.
So don’t try this on.
Reinhart shatter is the only one that has been patched in, yes there have been bug fixes but that is the only one that was patched in according the the change log.
You fine with enemy cc but a benifical ally cc is to much, both take away control, enemies take away more because they are on shorter cooldowns, or can hit multiple people. LW is a single target pull, on a 20 sec cooldown, even if he used the ability off cooldown the entire match on a single target, that is 30 pulls in a 10 min match, so that is equively to being stunned for 30 secs becuase on average his pull takes 1 sec. However he isnt using it off cooldown, nor is he only using in on a single target. There are games where you might never get pulled. So you probably might get pulled around 5 times in a match, maybe more if your tank, maybe less for other roles. However thats still probably less then 10secs where you arnt playing your charater. But actually is probabbly negitve seconds becuase if he didnt pull you, you would be dead and being dead is alot more time doing nothing then getting moved to saftly.
I can kill enemy players, I can’t counter or kill my own teammates. They are not the same. If an enemy CCs me I can do something about it, if I have a LW I can do nothing about them pulling me other than yelling at them in chat till they swap off the stupid character. As long as you have LOS to LW, he has full potential control of your character, whether he knows what he’s doing or not and you have no say. That’s infuriating to anyone who isn’t a support player.
If your CCed your CCed baring a tiny few heros, if you get CCed there isnt anything you can do.
He just moves someone once every 20 seconds, how in the world is that full potential control of a charater?
You relize im not just a support player, i play tank as much if not more then support. I personally love him on my team beause he can get me out when i normally can not.
