Hello everyone, I rarely post a topic but I would like some advice from any high level players on ranked and how they manage to handle losses that seem out of their control
For the first time ever in this game I decided to actually grind ranked, before I would do my placements get diamond 3 or 4 and leave it there
This time I spent a whole 3 days climbing all the way to diamond 1 97% , 3% away from masters 5 on DPS
Only to lose the game
Now I’m not one to flame others but my second DPS didn’t belong in the rank his stats didn’t compare to me or my other teammates (3-19)
Ofc I didn’t say anything cus I’m not one to point out or call names, the tank on my team was doing that just fine asking to report said DPS
Anyways since that game I’ve been spiralling out of control in ranked I have won 8 games and lost 9 pushing me back to diamond 2
And at least 4 of those losses it felt like I had someone who isn’t in the right rank or a Smurf which added to my frustration and eventually lead me to being slightly toxic, something I’ve never done I’m usually very kind and not caring about others mistakes it actually made me feel kinda horrible
Now I can accept if I myself make mistakes which I very well have in some of my losses
I’m not perfect but I feel every loss worsen my performance for the next game and after
I would like to know how people keep there mentality and any advise on how I should go forward in my ranked grinds and prevent any further toxic outbursts

While I cannot give you direct help here, it sounds like you could do well approaching Overwatch coaches like Spilo on youtube.
Gather your thoughts and information regarding your current situation in ranked and reach out to Spilo on youtube. He reviews replays of other players in situations similar to yours, across the entire ladder.
He also has a ton of good guides that may help you regarding a variety of non-hero-specific skills, like positioning and gameplay flow.
Replay codes should be visible in your match history.

it is just the EOMM doing it’s thing and forcing your winrate into a 50% ratio. no matter what other people are going to say to you in here, that’s the truth. You lose two games in a row? time to stop playing. You won two in a row? Time to stop playing too. that’s how it is junior.

Whether it is EOMM just doing its thing or not is kind of a useless point to make given there are enough players that get to rise above the “matchmaker” and climb instead of being stuck.
You can do little to influence what players you get when solo queueing, you can do a lot reflecting on your own performance and aiming to improve where you are currently falling short on.
Keep improving yourself so in the case you have similar minded players on your team, you wont be the weak link in the match.

Yeah, thanks for the advice earlier appreciate it I’m considering buying spilos coaching as
I really wanna improve further outside my mechanical skill I don’t think I have much game sense
Right now like you said ima focus on myself and try not to be that weak link
Its a purchase thing? Didn’t know that tbh, I mostly just watch his replay reviews he posts on youtube.
Yeah for his coaching where he reviews your own replay it’s like $40/60 depending on which one you get

Ah, good to know - sorry about that. If you think it could be worth it for you, consider it, other than that his general set of guides is still fantastic. Helped me a fair bit

After losing 2 matches, concider taking a small break. Have lunch, or something else that takes your mind off the last few matches.
If you keep getting more annoyed it’s easier to become blinder to one’s own mistakes.
People have their personal tresholds to what they can put up with before everything in a match starts annoying them.
Check those replays after that break (or the next day) preferrably from a teammates and enemies point of view to see if you could have been in a better position or pushed at better times.
It’s usually pretty easy to see your own positioning mistakes at least from the enemy’s point of view. From your support’s view if you feel that you didn’t get healed enough.
This isn’t really a high rank tip, but a long time player tip.

I just don’t say anything bad to teammates and accept my fate.

I usually do the same but I guess the fact I was so close to a new peak and the constant losses took a toll I should’ve stopped after like 2
you make it sound like jjonak couldn’t win a single game beyond 50% winrate on my og s1 ow1 plat account
pretty sure he would blast through with Atleast +80% winrate.
why don’t I reach diamond? I can reach plat 1 on 6 accounts in series. without issues.
is it EOMM? or is it my inability to play like dia?
Yeah, it can take a toll on you. That’s a good time to take a break. It’s only natural, but you won’t be playing as well as you can. I’m much lower rank and a support main. I see it as a challenge. You have to work around an underperforming teammate. I was close to plat 5 on this account. Literally one win away! I’ll get it next time if I put down Stadium, lol.
