Thanks!!!
Thanks for keeping things civil. First of all, as for why Iām in bronze, I barely played much, and I just didnāt enjoy the game, I did at first, during the beta, not sure what went wrong. I did place high gold, near plat before. I played a few times with my diamond cousin at his place when I lived in WA. Weād take turns playing while hanging out for a few hours. I didnāt have any problem hanging with the team, and no one said anything about me not being able to keep up.
Secondly, I havenāt seen any actual scientific evidence to support any of your claims on wrist vs arm aiming. Muscle memory develops through repetition. The hand and wrist are much more precise. About landing headshots, I was mainly speaking of other games. I get crazy high accuracy rating on games that keep those stats. Everything Iāve seen on the matter, once again, points to it as a matter of preference.
As to what āpro gamersā do, not particularly worried about that, as I was gaming a decade before most of them were in diapers. And if you can believe someone like that can rank well below average, hmm, not sure what to say.
Havenāt been playing much of anything lately, honestly. Busy with school, and Iām doing a 4 month wilderness survival course a few months after thatās over, so I wonāt even have a phone during that time.
Iāll probably stay there during the winter as well, they do ice water immersion and hypothermia training in winter, and thatās always good info.
Then Iāll probably do a few long hikes and travel some, so I doubt Iāll be gaming at all for the next couple years.
Also, overwatch does have some cheap crap that gets annoying, mei freeze, syms beam gun,and such. The game is cool, just not for me. Itās only been fun playing with friends while smoking and drinking, pretty much.
While arm aiming you can do anything you were doing with your wrist before, but with the added benefit of the muscles in your arm. Meaning you can get muscle memory in your arm for flick shots and larger movements needed to instantly lock onto flankers or pharas or other characters that are not showing up in your immediate sight-lines.
There is no downside to arm aiming. It just gives you the movement necessary to turn around and contest flankers or look up and kill a phara without sacrificing precision. If your wrist aiming, you cannot make these large adjustments with accuracy, you just arent moving the mouse enough!
Let me try to explain in more detail. When you wrist aim, your only moving your mouse around about a couple of square inches of space. In this small amount of space, you need to be able to move your mouse in a way to quickly turn your character all the way around, but also make adjustments of only a few pixels for accurate shots. If your DPI is high enough to turn around with one motion, its going to be so high that any small adjustment you make is going to move your cross-hair to much to make precision shots at any significant distance.
When you arm aim, your usually working with like a full square foot of space. This maps to your screen pretty well, and you can make wide motions across it for making large adjustments in-game as well as extremely small adjustments to be able to quickly and precisely move your crosshair a few pixles to line up head-shots.
Maby for other games, were you rarely need to make large motions, wrist aiming might be acceptable. But in OW you are crippling yourself wrist aiming. Its not good.
Im not really sure what you mean by this. I was only using pro gamers to show that anyone who is really good at FPS is using this method, to show to you that its the best method. Its like playing little league football as a QB and insisting that throwing the ball underhand is just a matter of preference and that its what you prefer and you can do just as good like that, and someone pointing out that in the NFL QBs rarely throw an underhand ball. Its just not an effective method.
In terms of whether I ābelieve you can rank well below averageā, of-course I believe you can rank well below average, I can clearly see you did rank well below average. If you ranked below average, thats pretty clear evidence that you can rank well below average. But that dosent mean anything negative, people have climbed from bronze to GM before, with practice and learning specific strategies and mechanics about this game im sure you can improve that tremendously.
These are two of the most easily counted weapons in the game, with short ranges and long ramp times on characters with limited mobility. If your having trouble with these, I recommend playing father back and out ranging them, witch can be done with most heros.
The advice regarding profile lookup is actually one of the best suggestions Iāve seen anywhere regarding this game. I have no doubt that that is an immensely powerful tool, to the extent that I kinda feel like the game shouldnāt allow it.
It is an insane tool especially below diamond, identifying and shatting on hanzo one tricks or tank mains playing support heros and that sort of thing can really turn the tide of the game. Knowing what your opponents strengths and weaknesses are before the game starts is great.
Well, what I meant by ranking well below average, is the only thing it tells me is that this gameās ranking system is screwed up. Thereās no way someone thatās been gaming 3 decades can actually be that bad, especially when I mentioned I had no problems hanging in diamond games.
I have tried the arm thing before, didnāt care for it at all. Might give it another shot in the future whenever I start gaming again. I do make precise shots with high DPI by moving my mouse a mm or so, I can do a 360 within 6 cm or so, and do mm adjustments for more precise shots. My sense in ow was 1800 DPI with 23 in game sense, I think, havenāt looked in awhile, and my monitor is broken, Iāll get one when I graduate.
My issue with mei is the freeze speed, needs to be a couple seconds slower.
I came back for a bit after 8 months of not playing, to see if I was missing something or would like the game again. I didnāt, and uninstalled it again. Doubt Iāll play it again, especially since there are several much better games coming out this year.
This going to sound dumb but do you have any good tricks for improving reflects? Other then heat.
The heroās Iām trying to get better with are in this order.
1:GENJI Iāve been playing him from the start love the kit.
2:D.VA same as the last.
3:ZEN discord is underrated and he fits my more aggressive play style.
4:TRACER just because she is really good and fun.
Working out several times a week, especially cardio, helps a lot. Going shooting as well, get a cheap shotgun and go to a skeet range.
Do you mean reflexes?
Generally what looks like really good reflexes in pro games and whatnot is actually just predicting what opponents are doing. For example, If you see a phara suddenly change playstyles to get in closer to your team, shes probaly going for an ult and you can take her out the second she uses it becase you know where shes gonna try to use it and it makes her an easy target. Or if a genji gets you to like half, you can assume hes gonna dash usually and predict your 180 so you do it like as hes dashing so you dont lose as much damage on him, or if like an enemy is walking back from spawn and your widow you can kind of estimate the path there talking and how long it takes them and know where/when there probaly gonna pop up.
Things like that are very hard, and come with practice. I dont know how to train up your reflexes, but what you should strive for is not reacting fast to things, it should be to predict as much about what the enemy team is doing as you can.
False, you lost 9/10 placement games and your rating was fairly low as it was, bronze is exactly where blizzard wants you right now.
Thatās why you go in with at least a 3-stack. So even if your team team sucks at least you are guaranteed a 3v6 lol. but seriously, 6 stacks are the way to victory
Can you do a VOD review?
Of course, post the link
https:// youtu.be/e3QxO2_rlzs
Itās Moira on the second in route 66, attack. Bronze.
I saw that you main Reinhardt, and I do too, but I havenāt had a chance to record a vod with him.
Are you using a controller to aim?
a better tip would be that you can high noon even if your gun isnt reloaded, alot of people wait to reload their pistol before high nooning thinking they need ammo
Lightwaves,
Your got your first ult in like a minuet, used it well but then you got your next ult really fast also and held it for like more then half the map! You should use your ults alot more, you had plenty of good chances to use it and you would have had at least 2 more ults that game if you were using it more.
In addition you do this wierd thing sometimes were you like tap out really small amounts of moira healing by what looks like clicking a bunch of times instead of just holding it down, i dont see any benifit to doing that its just lowering your healing.
Your aim needs alot of work, and you seem to be having a hard time turning around, I hate to bring wrist aim back up after spending the last like 10 posts here talking about it but this defenetly looks like that to me. I would get a big mousepad and switch to arm aiming if you can.
You tossed out alot of heal balls that only healed for like 20 HP and then flew away, try to practice finding angles were they do more work then that, usually keeping them parralel to the ground and hitting perpendicular walls is the ideal, but anything close is also efffective.
Also, never stop shooting your purple beam unless your healing. It has unlimited ammo, theres no reason to turn it off unless your healing, and leaving it on all the time will occasionaly get some extra damage on like tracers walking past you and stuff.
Your positioning was usually suprisingly good, stayed with team near objectives and had an effective early flank, and you hid well from junkrat ults (once you get higher you should try to juke these with fade, but at bronze hiding is good).
Your healing wasent great, if you see someone who looks like there going to start taking damage soon you really need to heal them
Your fade use is pretty decent, timed well for the D.va ult (even thogh you were behind cover), and used pretty well defensively.
Getting your aim a little better, using your ults more, and getting out more effective healing should boost you up to at least mid silver. Once your there, post another vod and ill give you some more refined info.
Thanks for the advice! I play only gold and my best was low platinum, but I would like to comment. At least in that rank regime Mei is a good counter against snipers. Especially on Temple of Anubis she can harass snipers on the high gates. She is also good with dealing with Genji, if you anticipate his jumping a bit. Also I prefer to go Mei with a good tracer around. I keep the icicles flying at her headās level and one hit is enough to take her out like a goddam scattershot.
If you want to go tank against a Mei, Zarya is good because of her bubble just before getting frozen as well as Orisa with her fortify. Mei though can quickly kill an Orisa with headshots though, which makes it kind of even.
I love to play the reaper even more. He is indeed the tank shredder. The only tanks giving me headaches there are Zarya with bubbling up just before finishing her off while being able to use the beam and Orisa, if I have to take her frontally behind her shield.
As I like to play Orisa: If no DPS and a healer stick with you, the shield is wasted. You are just getting plainly overrun by bunny jumping enemies.
Yep, thanks. I just need good teammates for both Xbox and PC.
I got the graphics (Iām at about 80FPS) and got the keyboard and mouse. Its just that the servers give me de WORST players, usually and in competitive for Xbox, I end up dropping. So if thereās anyone really good at competitive, plz plz plz plz plz let me know, Iāve been screaming for about 2 weeks about it.
Thx!
Hey thanks for the advices.
My mechanical aim isnāt very good so I have to pretty much play the no aim hero, and I enjoy playing tanks and supports, so Iām a Reinhardt, Moira and Winston main actually. But Reinhardt is still my favourite hero and I wish to rank up with him.
Problem is, is Reinhardt still a good hero to climb? I havenāt played any competitive games in season 9 yet but from the quick play games I have been playing I suffer so much when thereās Sombra in the enemy teamā¦
Also how do I motivate myself to play more Ranked and get better with Reinhardt? Really wanted to get that elusive Golden Hammer but Iām kinda afraid to play Competitive, and Iām mainly a Solo queue player
Itās called DEADEYE. Dead. Eye. Calling it high noon is the same as calling reaperās ult die die die . It makes no sense
