Actual Sym 3.5 Support rework concept

  1. All DPS is halved before Switching Role to Support
  2. Turrets now generate a slight AoE heal. (That can stack up to max 3.)
  3. Teleporter now generates a slight AoE heal. (Stacks with Turrets to the max limit.)
  4. Teleporter now heals those who use it. (Though not repeatable, healing as a cooldown for each use.) (stacks over Limit)
  5. Sym’s orbs now do a slight AoE Splash Heal. (Stacks over limit)
  6. Sym’s beam now can heal Allies slightly (stacks over limit)
  7. Sym’s Wall Ult now greatly heals allies 5 ft near it. (Doesn’t really need to stack because it’s already ridiculous.)

Almost the whole kit does a bit of Aoe healing.

I rather keep Sym as a dps and improve her in the dps role.

this is just a concept.

It’s up to devs if they want to do this or just make a similar new hero.

Like Ashe and Ana.

Was gonna post this here: Day2 Message to "A Designer" about testing Sym as a Support, but had a rough morning. Still dealing with some of it.

They already suggested they already might do a Support role rework already with Sym along now with Doomfist to Tank.

And have yet to update on that.

I guess we will need to wait and see what they do with Sym rework.

Same with Doomfist…

I don’t even see a reason to even play OW1, because all the heroes I want to play will be completely different in OW2.

Expect Junkrat… but I am not gonna play soley Junkrat.

Hopefully we get solid info this year.

are they definitely reworking her? Good thing I didn’t decide to get good at her again this season… No point learning a character just for them to be deleted from the game… Again.

It was a vague comment of potentially testing Sym as a support. I believe some kind of rework will occur.

I know.

Anyway have to head to work again.

(Honestly had little chance to actually rest today.)

ugh probably. Everyone and their mom has a convoluted concept for a sym rework. She’s fine as she is imo, even though I miss her old kit. Whatever they do with her, I’m glad I’ve dropped her so it doesn’t hurt as much when they accidentally (likely) ruin her

I think she needs to be made more fluid to play and diminish some of the wind up time for most of her kit.

completely agree. I like how infinite tp enables some of the campier playstyles and positioning from 2.0 to return, and being able to semi-lock down 2 lanes at the same time is insane… but as you say, the necessary set up time really pushes her into specialist applications

Again, I’m lost wondering why they ever reworked tp from 3.0 to 4.0 in the first place. Flankmetra was very fun to play with fast tp resets, and probably would have been easier to balance than the current sym we have

I’d keep her as a Dps. She needs a hitbox reduction mainly… :face_with_monocle:

I’d stray away from AoE healing, personally.

Overwatch has a history of AoE healing being problematic.
