I’ve been winning a lot more than losing. It always says b5 71%. It’s not about getting good. I quit over this bug. If I was losing games, I’d agree with needing to get better. I have also never been stuck in b5 before.
All my QP games, the lobby is Diamonds, in the Arcade the lobby is high Diamonds/Masters and when I say each I really mean each game, not individual cases. Guess what rank I got at the beginning of Season 4 (loud fanfare) silver1 dude SILVER 1 ! Despite the fact that each season I have definitely won more matches than I lost. I played ranked with bronze/silver Blizzard made me a smurf only that I play support and unlike DPS, I don’t like this situation and yes, you can raise your rank simply by playing enough ranked matches but dispassionate grind is not really something that interests me
ps. My case, I must emphasize, may not be typical due to my unstable condition
Just won 5 games lost 1 NO increase in rank.
You can consider yourself lucky. Same story in my frend case but he was deranked after this by 2 ranks. A completely obvious and clear thing what’s not to understand here
Well said brother. Exactly this.
This happens to me all the time. Just have to always be consistent to climb. Don’'t let it tilt you. You will soft throw games without realizing.
You can’t do anything about other ppl tho, so you are just wasting your energy which is prolly leading you to being hard stuck
I could happily send you multiple vod replay codes that you could check. I will have to make some new ones, given that the patch just hit and the ones I was saving for proof are now gone. But I can guarantee you that more than 50% of my games are people who act like they just installed the game that day and joined comp, despite the fact that you can’t do it that way.
Again, I don’t claim that I’m fantastic – I suspect that my actual rank should be in the mid silver area. That may seem pretty low to you, but to me it seems like paradise. More importantly, I legitimately and fairly believe that’s where I should be. Mid silver, working towards gold. Yes… it’s bad enough that I DREAM of the day that I see that Silver 3 label. D:
“It exists, when you see no rank progression (it says 0% in your division) this means you are below bronze5 which contains bottom500 up to 1000 SR, Bronze4 starts at 1100 SR. But ppl call it a bug and then talk about mechanics.”
It actually was a bug. Which got fixed with the most recent patch. I went from 0% to 71% overnight. But you keep telling yourself that you know what you’re saying.
I’ve actually HAD vod coaching and I know where I need to improve. And that confirmed that I should NOT be hard stuck in bronze. But you think you know, I guess.
They’re trolling. Plain and simple.
Well I am still masters. Guess it wasn’t a matchmaker fluke like some say it was.
While I appreciate that you have found success with improving your own gameplay and ranking up, it’s not fair to generalize and say that every support player who is struggling to rank up is at fault for their own shortcomings. It’s true that improving your own gameplay can help you climb the ranks, but it’s also important to recognize the impact that your teammates and the overall matchmaking system can have on your success.
Furthermore, I have to say that I find it a bit disingenuous that you are lecturing supports when you are a Doomfist main. While I’m sure you have a good understanding of the game mechanics and can offer advice on general gameplay strategies, it’s not really your place to speak on behalf of supports when you don’t have firsthand experience playing the role.
Lastly, I have to point out that your recent rank-up from hard stuck Plat to Masters 3 may be a result of the new matchmaking changes, which have caused some players to experience inflated ranks. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you are a true Masters-level player in terms of skill, so it’s important to keep that in perspective when giving advice to others.
Overall, I think it’s great that you’re passionate about the game and want to help others improve, but it’s important to approach the topic with humility and recognize that there are many factors at play when it comes to ranking up in Overwatch.
While it’s a good idea to encourage players to have a better understanding of the game, implementing a quiz to affect MMR could lead to other issues. For example, players who don’t have a good understanding of the game but are skilled at aiming or other aspects could still rank higher, leading to unbalanced matches.
A better solution might be to encourage more communication and teamwork in the game. Encouraging players to use voice chat and communicating with their team about strategy and hero choices could go a long way in improving the overall competitive experience. It’s important to remember that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, and the game is meant to be fun and enjoyable for everyone.
You need to improve yourself to rank up. Everyone has same “Bad teams” and “bad enemies” only thing you can control is yourself
I don’t even know where you got this idea from. Zenyatta is my most played character and Support is my most played role. I may have 1-2 hours on Doomfist across all game modes.
I never said I went from plat to masters in 1 rank up. If you read the thread you will see I explain it’s been a grind since end of OW1. I changed my mindset over a year ago and have seen progress. Everyone is playing with the same matchmaker and same “bad teams”. If inflated ranks was real then everyone is also effected by them.
I can’t climb this season. The games are really bad! I’m done. Screw this game.
People climbing in a broken, unplayable ladder after everyone left.
I just realize this like yesterday I was wondering why I can’t rank up and why I’m stuck at my same rank. I looked at my stats to the other supports on my team and the enemy it was bad. I was almost being carried, I started working now I think I just need time to learn more.
While I do agree that people should focus on what they can do better as no matter what they will always have to play with bad team mates. I also don’t necessarily think this is correct as sometimes it can definitely be in fact your team mates fault. Especially if you have a group of friends you play with and they’re bad.
Also there are things you can do to help with this, one stop playing with your friends who aren’t good. And secondly find someone, who’s actually good and trying at the game and play with them more. To reduce the number of trash team mates.
Yep I also stopped playing with friends that I know can’t play well in higher rank lobbies. Just quickplay with them. And of course everyone gets games that are just unwinnable because of your team mates be it throwers or you just don’t mesh well. Everyone experiences this though. You have to play consistently always so when you do get teams that you can win with you do. That is the true grind. Being consistent through the good and bad. Some games feel unwinnable because of some unlucky things may happen that you don’t even see. Keep playing well and sometimes those unwinnable games somehow become a victory. Sometimes games you think are an easy win end up in a loss.
Everyone climbed because we had an influx of new players being worse than everyone who played that game for 7 years.
