A word on private profiles. YES, another one

Why is the default setting “Friends only”? Why is the default setting not “public”? If someone gets harrassed for his profile, go for it, set it to “Friends only” or “Private”, but if not, I want to see against what kind of player I play against. If I go into QP and play against a few diamonds and masters, I believe I should know that.

Also, whats up with the MMA anyways? I lost the 8th game in a row today, why would I even bother to play it? Is it because they put me in a match of someone who needs to get to the 50% winrate? 8 times? I dont think I play god tier on every other day of the year, but I also dont think I play like garbage every other day.

Jeff, fix your game or get sued by a metric ton of people. idfk

But that’s a lot of words, actually.

got anything else to say?

You’re going to sue Jeff Kaplan personally because the default setting for profiles in Overwatch is private. That sounds neither feasible nor reasonable.

Yeah I ate nachos for lunch and it’s very hot again.

Other than that, tough luck, man. I get the same sh*t, that’s why I’m actively discouraged from playing comp regularly. How exactly are you planning a lawsuit by “a metric ton” of people, though?

Because privacy laws are a thing that exists and Blizzard took steps to prevent legal trouble.

Besides why does it matter which is default if an option exists? Right now all the public profiles are people who want to show their info

Wait, wot? Privacy laws…of my in-game profile?

Where am I?

Why should it be the other way round?

its what the idfk at the end is for. I dont know what you can do against that type of behavior, but I think its wrong and should be punished. You cant do this.

It’s safe to say that I have no idea what you just said.

Because most people dont get harrassed by other players. Most of the time they get ignored and not looked into the profile. So the default setting should be public. If they get harrassed, they can turn it private, but most people dont even know where the option to turn things around is so I am playing against anonymous people ofwhich I dont know what rank they are at or what they usually play.

Try using your words, like an adult, if you really want to creep on what people play

sure. Next time I just ask “Alright guys, what SR are you at and what heroes do you play usually” and i am sure the enemy team will answer gladly and honest

You know peoples SR in comp, they still tell you.

And QP Blizz is too lazy to matchmake correctly so you can only judge it based on thier account level

So QP is basically a by design flawed system. Where all the causuals are at which Blizz attracted with low skill high reward heroes. What kind of backwards design is this Blizz?

Ah, you are one of those people

Evidently enough harassment was occurring on a daily basis to cause the devs to give the player base the option to keep their’s private. And so that harassment has stopped. That’s a good thing. It isn’t going to be changing, so I suggest that you would be best served by worrying about yourself and what you can do rather than sitting in spawn and making spreadsheets of your team’s statistical performance.

One of what kind of people again?

So making it public by default would make these “most people” vulnerable to harassment as they won’t know they can fix stuff.

Because the system is useless if it defaults to public, people who decide to hide it would get harassed because they “have something to hide”.
