A thread about the 5.56mm NATO round (and about the concept of creating space)

literally every time someone is going out in the field they are required to wear Small Arms Protection Inserts (or SAPI plates for short) Just because you cant see the protection on someone doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

lol youre the one telling lies about the purpose of the 5.56 round you don’t know anything.

No it’s illegal to own as well. You need to be an FFL to own one legally in the U.S.

The only reason the U.S. never adopted it, is the weapon was to heavy to use regularly. But the engineering design behind it is genuinely epic.

Edit: Do not confuse the knock offs of the AA-12 by other manufacturers. The real military AA-12 is illegal to own.

Didn’t know USA army/navy/whatever enlists minors …

Just like the cluster bombs used in Syira, Yugoslavia, … killed civilians more humanely I guess :man_shrugging:

7.62x51 was a heavy(er) round, and as such weapons firing it had stronger recoil, resistance … meaning they were less precise and harder to handle. And since it’s compromise between accuracy, range, destructive force etc. they went with 5.56. Apparently USA’s army is looking to develop 6.8mm rounds now because Russians and Chinese developed better defensive gear and they try to keep up because they can’t always fight bands of people with spears … :man_shrugging:

Aw, don’t treat former “force recon marine” like that. ARMA 3 is a realistic game …

My first gun was a springfield xd 9. My second was an ak, a century arms wasr 10/63.
People talk mess about the ak I own, but I love it.

I see, well yeah if you need the FFL then its illegal for normal civilians. I wasn’t saying the shotgun was legal, I was saying that a gun being illegal to import doesn’t necessarily mean its illegal to own

Do not confuse the knock offs of the AA-12 by other manufacturers. The real military AA-12 is illegal to own.

There are knock off AA-12’s that are not made by the original manufacturer.

Those are legal to own in the U.S. but the Military AA-12 is not.

Those knock offs are basically converted AR-15’s and AK frames.

Also those knock offs are not engineered the same as the AA-12. Which has a special spring recoil system, that reduces recoil to near 0. The knock-offs all recoil like mad.

im 27. youre an idiot.

that has what to do with a round?

0321

look it up.

2nd marine battalion. look it up

I wasn’t, I was sighting the Franci Spaz 12 as my example:

Not quite.

It is the tanks job to create space and opportunity. It is the job of the dps to act on the opportunity created for them. It is the support’s job to bolster both in their jobs.

I believe you …
No, actually I don’t :man_shrugging:

It has to do with the “humane” reasoning …

Yeah, and I’m prince of England. Prince Harry, duke of Sussex look it up. And I’m married to an ex-actress, look it up. I’m super cereal.

@Yolo

So do you not need an FFL to own a SPAS? or the MPS AA-12?

youre an idiot, so yyoud find the truth hard to blieve.

2 different tactics doesn’t mean the first wasn’t humane you fool.

I was able to give you the MOS number and battalion in seconds off the top of my head.

People who can do that with an MOS usually are someone who is in that field, because there is no reason to know the number and battalion unless you were specifically with them, because you need it for paperwork purposes in the military.

you don’t need it for the Spas, but the AA-12 from what youre saying you do need it for, and I understand why, any Full auto gun in America you need an FFL to own any automatic firearm in America, makes sense

mmm … so 5.56 has nothing to do with laws and everything to do with individual soldiers carrying more rounds for sustained fire and the logistics of wounded vs killed soldiers that oddly enough you got right.

if you think 5.5.6 is a ‘low impact’ round you need to look at pics of the wound cavity created by the shockwave.

lastly, these days 62 grain is standard and heavier 77 grain are common as well. both of these have done exceptionally well over the past 30 years in the middle east. so well in fact that whole argument of ‘not enough stopping power’ is essentially dead.

just saying … get your facts straight.

Space creation is a team effort but it’s primarily the job of the tank. What rank are you guys playing at?

If two enemy reinhardts are facing each other a decent ways away with their shields up the Ana isn’t going to get a fat nade or sleep dart off on the enemy Rein, your Mccree isn’t going to be able to get off a flashbang.

Now if your Reinhardt holds down W key and swings in the enemy Reinhardts face things change. Enemy Rein can take damage or he can also swing or back up. Ana can suddenly antinade the enemy team when Reinhardt has lowered his shield, Mccree can get close enough to flashbang Rein or even toss it up above his shield.

That is space creation and it is wholly unique to tanks. The tanks have the HP and defensive capabilities to get up in the enemies face and allow their teammates to use their abilities that would otherwise be wasted. Other roles can create space, a Pharahmercy bombarding the team, or a Widow in a good perch is going to cause hell that has to be respected, but 9/10 the primary threat that teams cannot ignore is a tank walking forward.

You can tell that many people here are bad tanks if they don’t understand this simple premise. These are all the people who stand at the choke and complain nothing is happening.

I enjoy mine. I’m actually pretty decent shot through iron sights at 100yards.

6-12" spreads at 100 yards through iron sights… cough although sometimes I wonder why I only see 20 holes from a 30 round mag.

I wouldn’t be facing them. I’d be waiting on a perch behind to drop down on their head? idk your strategy but i dont play rein that way ;3

Sorry, Reinhardt is not getting on a perch on Hanamura A by himself. So you can stand at the choke with your shield up then come to the forums and make a silly thread like this.

Or you could make some space for your team.

Thought so, just wasn’t sure since I didn’t know enough about the SPAS to know if it was full auto or not.
