What you WANT is a separate mode that the devs treat as the main game….balance it, with the bi-seasonal updates and such…and the devs have NEVER shown any interest in keeping two versions of the game running…like yeah they added OQ….they also promptly forgot about it the second it was added
Most people think they can’t properly work on the game when it’s just one game mode that they have to run…and you think they’re going to do this for 2 game modes at the same time???
You know what….im sold…they should add it…cause that’s a clown fiesta i want to see
“6v6 treated like main game” is what you want is my point…
you dont want the “we’re giving you an OQ that will only get a universal tank HP nerf after about 4 years and thats that” version of 6v6 that would almost certainly be put out and quickly abandoned…or DM mode that still hasnt done a single thing about tanks…or the MH mode that still hasnt removed the hero stacking that is probably the most broken mechanic in all of OW
you dont want scuffed 6v6
the devs have a track record of what they are and arent willing to do as far as everything not called the main game mode
They forgot about it because outside of Korea it was less than 1/10 the population of every other mode. People had the option of RQ or OQ and over 90% choose RQ. They picked the mode they preferred to play as there was nothing in the game to say one was the “main” comp mode and one was not.
Again when both existed at the same time, and at the start when it should have its peak popularity because its new, it had less than 10% of the popularity of RQ. Meanwhile while everyone quit during the content drought (because it turns out having no content for 3 years does not help populations), we also know that in the early months of RQ that the population was the same as it was pre RQ.
So if we know that OQ was drastically less popular and that the population drops in OW did not exist until we had a fairly significant time delay between when RQ was introduced, we can logically surmise that the creation of RQ was largely uncorrelated to the games population.
Again, that’s because the only people left playing the game were those that like RQ, since this game was RQ only for like 3 months.
Um, except no, that’s not true at all, lol.
I’m basing this off of twitch viewership numbers. What are you basing it off of?
…the game lost like half its playerbase after RQ was introduced. We can “surmise” that they added OQ back to try to keep players, but obviously that didn’t work too well, because they decided just to not balance around OQ anymore.
