I rather deal with Ana than say Sombra, there are certain heroes right now on top of the dive meta that makes this game so frustrating to play.
The current dive meta exists because of the DPS passive, which Blizzard refuses to back down from, and how it benefits Tracer, who is also a favourite they will never touch.
Neither the Ana meta we’d end up back in nor this dive meta are ever going to be balanced unfortunately.
5v5 means counters have more impact on the game ![]()
Counter 2 people and that’s 40% of the team having a bad time.
Quite literally impossible. There is not a single thing you can do to change how Soldier can track Pharah, how Sombra can sneak up on Widow, how Orisa can body Rein, how Ana can strip Mauga of all survivability, how Reaper feasts on Bastion, how Mei ignores deflect and can deny Genji’s escapes and attacks, how D.va can deny Ashe’s entire existence, etc etc, without fundamentally changing and reworking every single character in the game whilst still making them all viable and unique from one another.
The issue of Counterswap is solvable only with 6v6.
You can if the heroes were actually reworked for OW2’s launch (you know, like a real sequel). Instead we got only 2 reworks (doom and orisa) with some balance tweaks sprinkled around.
Its a double-edged sword because i do believe that counters and countering is a good and key part of the game BUT it has become too much. Unfortunately in 5v5 i. Not sure theres much they can do, in reality this is only really an issue for tanks, in the other two roles theirs 2 players so theyre able to sometimes at least partially cover some of the weaknesses of the other.
The game has always been around the possibility to swap heroes. I would rather prefer smoothing the counterability instead of this system.
E.G. D.va may eat a certain percentage of damage from beams and similar.
Here’s what they should do:
- Remove retaining ult charge entirely
- Add 5 seconds to respawn timer when swapping heroes after the match has gone on for 60 seconds
- Reduce respawn timer when swapping by 1 second for every 20% ult charge you had when you swapped
That way there’s harsh penalty to swapping frequently (longer respawn, no ult retained) but if you’re desperately needing to swap because you’re being hardcountered and you’d sacrifice a ton of ult charge to do it, you can make that change quickly to help your team
Hell no.
Except you can’t. Every single character needs to be reworked. Every single one. They all need to be balanced, unique and viable. All three of those objectives are going to fail for multiple characters.
ok, do that then. What have they been doing for those more than 3 years when they weren’t making the pve?
Oh wow, that solves none of the problems of Counterwatch lol. At best that is an inconvenience to people playing Counterwatch. If an entire team starts off with a roster that effectively counters every tank, hindering swapping only hurts the tank that’s being 5-man countered.
Except they can’t do that lmao. Again, they ALL need to be reworked. Multiple of whom need to have every part of their kit removed and replaced, such as Ana, Zen, Sojourn, Widow, Mauga and Rein for example.
Why not? What is the issue?
The whole point of a sequel is to be different and they could have kept OW1 around.
They all need to be balanced, viable and unique. You are going to end up with multiple overlapping kits and you are going to end up with a whole new roster of hard-counters and dumpster-tier characters and will have ultimately done nothing.
That is inevitable and is already a thing so why it matters.
If Paladins has no counters how can’t a billion dollar studio do it?
You are going to end up with more in a desperate attempt to rebalance a game that is objectively not designed for this ludicrous format.
This is why you people need to listen to less to streamers and think more for yourselves.
This is just a diarrhea of buzzwords with no meaning.
Cool story bro, I don’t watch streamers, and I actually think streamers and pros ruin games ![]()
I would say that they cannot counter swap spam if you refuse to swap yourself; however, you would be surprised. These people have a mental breakdown and try literally everything that could possibly be a counter once you dom their Orisa.
