Maybe you’re just a God? Have you talked to Chipsa to tell him that you’re the better Doomfist Main now?
Also, yes, I would like to see the screenshots.

One of my favourite terms I use to make on the old forums, is the ol’ “The Genji who cried skill”
This was a response I used for a lot of Genji mains that completely defended every nonsensical ability he had because “ma skill”.
Ledge super jump? Skill
Triple jump? Skill
8 second ultimate? Skill
Deflect the size of Africa? Skill
Funny how despite all of these things either being removed or toned down, he is still a game favourite and sees frequent play.
So now we have Doomfist mains crying skill.
One hit kill punch? Skill; Let’s ignore mostly stationary heroes for everything here.
The 2 combo kills he has? Skill; On some of the lowest cooldowns in the game
And lets face it, meteor strike is one of the most mindless ultimates in the game.
But everything that could possibly be unbalanced about him is fine because “skill”.
He needs a complete and total rework. He needs to give people a chance to respond, and to protect their team, his ultimate needs to be reworked to actually be fun and engaging, he needs to be more risk averse, and he needs more than just Doomfist mains relentlessly defending him on the forums.
This game is so close to being extremely fun again, but things like Doomfist are holding it back.
NopE, NotHiNG BrOkeN HeRE LuL
Oh no, I’ve played doom once and did good with him, therefore from today onwards, i’ll label the hero as easy.
Hahaha, that’s a funny joke
Op proceeds to ignore all sounds df makes and gets killed
You mean like giving him wind ups, telegraphs, and loud ability announcements that reveal his position as he hurls himself at his opponents?
If only.
Near complete reliance on cooldowns for damage
One of the largest non-tank hitboxes
Uses his body as a projectile and has to get into spitting distance of his enemies to do anything
Literally one of the single most killed heroes in the game
On one ability of which a lot of the cast has no option to combat, while also on a lower cooldown than practically every ability that does combat it
Kind of the same issue, his abilities aren’t much more telegraphed than any other, and fall extremely short of every other non-click4head OHKO
Only related to the punch, as his other abilities are instant and in your face. But see answer to point 1 regarding what a character can/can’t do.
Imagine being a zen, and hearing a doom charge. Your options
Shoot4head, do some damage, die anyway.
Ultimate, dodge him for a bit, navigate to team, likely die anyway while wasting one of the more powerful support ultimates on a simple escape
Or, hope to hell your Zarya/Baptiste is on ducking point, cause you’re dead.
Seismic slam even at its shortest distance has a wind up (And while it may be small, so is its damage in this instance), and in order to reach maximum damage is requires a minimum air time of 1.5 second
Meteor strike also has a wind up once selected, and you can audibly hear exactly where doomfist is aiming before he locks in a location.
Seismic slam is almost as loud as rocket punch (Though i admittedly wish it was AS loud), and again meteor strike can be pin pointed but audio alone.
Imagine being a briggitte and hearing pharah fly around.
Some heroes are tough on other specific heroes.
Yes- Doomfist can be tough on a zen in a 1:1 situation and he relies more on his team to keep him alive.
Just like briggs couldnt really do diddly to a pharah.
Comparable to projectile speeds, but your comment regarding maximum damage is moot considering it’s the close distance damage + hand-cannon that does the kill. Maximum damage is just a benefit. This is in addition to a fairly large zone of damage, and a temporary lift-immobility to make it easier to follow up with.
It’s a powerful ability, and not nearly as compatible as you imply.
And yes, Meteor strike has a loud audio cue so you always know roughly where he is pointing at any given time, but that really doesn’t make it any less engaging. Despite knowing where he is, you can only sit and wait until he clicks, saving whatever escape you have for that moment.
Regarding the volume of Seismic slam, this does once again correlate to many characters inability to actually combat the move itself. Not many have the sheer DPS to outright stop him, and once he lands, he shields himself up some more and often escaping a rough situation is easier than locking yourself in to one.
Brigg does have a hard time with Pharah, but has the benefit of a shield to give her some time to weigh options and communicate.
My point regarding zen isn’t a situation dissimilar to many other characters
, he is just in and out too quickly, and has free reign over the timing of the engagement, and I find he will attack me almost every time my escape or ‘counter’ is off cooldown. I can’t stun, I can’t hook, I can’t do anything because whatever character I am, I rely on those abilities to actively participate in combat, and I can’t just simply keep that ability off cooldown for the off-chance a Doomfist happens to come close enough.
I say I can’t, but I do, because I have to, and I let my team and frontline down when I do. If I know DF is alive and kicking, I wont be hooking aside from guaranteed kills or saves because I’d be opening my team up, but a hook isn’t a guaranteed save against a Doomfist.
But I’ve had these discussions about Doomfist all the time, and it’s always the same thing from every defender. Windups, his loud screams, and how he is somehow the only character reliant on cooldowns and is a sitting duck despite having the shortest cooldowns of the roster.
I wont claim he is unkillable because I do kill him regularly (often after the loss of 1 or 2 supports), but I will 100% claim that the effort it takes to kill a Doomfist, is far more than the effort required from him to nab a kill and get out. His deaths are 90% because he picked the wrong target, or made a mistake, or decided to bee greedy and go for both supports giving the team time to turn and respond, not because he got outplayed.
We can keep wasting eachothers time with long winded drawn out posts nit picking and critiquing eachother, with neither listening to the other “cuz im right youre not so youre wrong neener neener”
Or i can bypass that and put my money where my mouth is.
Add me on battle net.
Well group up and play together, and ill show you first hand why i dont give 2 hoots about basically any doomfist I cross, and why i rarely lose to one.
Ill gladly let you pick my role- Want me on tank? Sure. Prefer a DPS that bodies doomfist nearly every attempt he makes on the team? You bet.
Want to see a support that rarely ever dies to doomfist? Bring it on.
Genuine offer.
I appreciate the offer, but I wont take you up on that.
People will always hate me for saying this, but he forces me to play a specific way to specifically combat him, and that makes me enjoy the game significantly less. It’s not that I can’t beat him, it’s not that I always lose to him, it’s not I’m not willing to adapt to fighting him.
And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way about him.
That and I play on Australian servers where its doubtful you are, and I don’t like playing with ping all that much.
EDIT: Yknow, I am a huge advocate for Role Queue. It’s the sole reason I returned to playing this game. But its huge disadvantage is locking me in to a role where I potentially can’t team protect from a Doomfist or, as what happened in 3 games in a row (to the same smurf), a Widowmaker. Icing on that metaphorical cake.
That coo’. Didnt think you would.
A lot of heroes require specific play styles to deal with them. Doomfist isnt unique here for this.
Lived there for 7 years, Byron Bay / Nsw. I have friends there whom i still play with. I tend to join their servers, the latency isnt much of an issue to me (I tend to play with people from around the world a lot).
Very true, but DF is much more egregious and further limits character picks. Taking Pharah as an example, I can adapt playstyle for every single tank, most DPS, and every Support. Genji favors certain picks, but I don’t feel helpless or have an inability to protect someone if I’m an inconvenient one. Reaper is a tough one for tanks, but otherwise alright.
Something we actually do share. Used to play with Asia and Europe peoples, as well as Americans. Not quite so now, as I stopped playing for the better part of 2 years due to low quality games. And I wont lie, Doomfist was the nail in the coffin when the fun was already dwindling.
I will also add that Doomfist isn’t the only hero I take issues with, just the most serious one. I’m sure that when(if) he gets adjusted, and becomes much more fun to play against, I’ll move on to someone else.
Symmetra and Genji’s ultimate spring to mind. Nano-blades are an ez-win. Me and my friend used to abuse it to win games that were otherwise unwinnable. Attackers need only win team battles twice, defenders only have 1 chance to falter.

Hmmmm an alt account rank shaming nice one but thats pathetic even if you had your gold rated main account while doing it. like I mean if you gonna rank shame atleast do it with your main thats at least rated masters 3800+ i get that but if you are not just dont it makes you look more like a dumb baby
Doom isn’t op he’s just good vs double shield. Nerf the op tanks not the DPS that work well with the op tanks
