so depending on the shield strength or if its just a cooldown, if its the same as rein where no cooldown and you can hold it up whenever and with health… then…
what is the point of reinhardt now lol?

Time to get the Reinhardt funeral going
Looks like it might be on E, if her Boosters are on Shift. Right-Click will be her Arm-Cannon and Left-Click is her Sword.
While Boosters is activated, she can do some special techniques like Charge with the Barrier up, or special sword swings. And like Boosters on D.va, she can turn it off at any time.
yea probably doesnt play exactly like rein. if she does then ill be like why should i play rein
its like sojourn and soldier but i do get confused if i play soldier and go back to sojourn… wondering why i cant sprint
Oh no.
A new tank has the potential to do better than Rein.
I guess he’ll have to settle for the second highest winrate in the tank role.
I love whenever people cite winrate as if that reflects a hero being in a good spot or not. ANY heros winrate can be inflated or tanked by numbers adjustments. Take away some damage on his firestrike, or HP on his shield and he goes right back to the shadowrealm. Reins issues are his outdated design. Mobile heros and heros with CC run circles around him for days and there are many abilities that poop out damage to shred through his shield which is especially noticable in 6v6. Rein desperately needs a rework. Even something as simple as shield bash in base kit would make his playstyle a lot more adequate for 2026.
Considering rein is the strongest tank at most ranks, she would need to be quite busted to dethrone him. I am going to assume her barrier has less health than his, and probably does less melee dmg.
well there is the new hero safe side of strong thing and she WILL get buffed if she is even remotely bad. expect busted for a month at least
Probably tied to a limited duration.
For one, her shield’s only about as wide as she is. Rein’s still gonna be better at protecting teammates.
For two, while we don’t have the numbers, I’d expect her to be less of a threat up close.
There was never a point in Reinhardt existing in Overwatch Dos. His purpose was to train us for Yuna.

He fights for honour and glory. Dmon fights because “mai muhda torud mee too”
holding main while d.mon with higher mobility holds sidelanes
Safe side of strong has been hit or miss since season 1. Like half the heroes came out weak, a couple in a decent spot, and others too strong. No doubt if she is weak she will get buffed, but that doesn’t mean busted. And might totally depend on rank. Like low ranks cry Sierra is busted after her buffs since she came out very weak. But she is literally the weakest hero in gm.
Maybe in the lore he has honour. Now he is just a hero with a lot of bs with shatter range and the 10 years of vacuum pins missing but getting a free kill.
D.Mon’s design is bound to be feast or famine: either a melee raid boss or a paper tiger that everyone shoots down and gets CC’d to bits.
I put her on the same level as Sierra, a filler hero design that’s not very interesting for most people. D.Mon only really appeals to dive tank players who have nostalgia of playing Demoknight from TF2 and has played Rein in the past.
I’m sort of the intended Demoknight player so I’ll give it a go in S4, but don’t expect D.Mon to be very popular.
Why does she have to be feast or famine? For all we know she could be tanky enough without being oppressive. Using her barrier for defences and gun when she cannot he in melee range.
I also think it is far too early to try and say who she does and does not appeal to when we haven’t even tried her.
I expect her to be very popular being in the mechs squad. And rein is a very popular tank and she seems to have multiple similarities to him.
Except it’s not just his winrate.
Most heroes with a high pickrate have lower winrates.
But not Rein.
He’s not a niche hero. He’s not a generalist that gets overpicked into places he shouldn’t.
He is consistently the best tank pick.
And it’s not just one rank. It’s all ranks except GM/Champ.
And even in GM/Champ he’s STILL one of best tanks.
The entire idea that he sucks or doesn’t work is so massively detached from reality.
Rein is extremely successful.
Now you can think he needs a rework or have whatever opinion about his gameplay that you want.
But objectively, he is not weak and he’s not overshadowed.
Being mobile and having a shield, and primarily a melee brawl (with a side gun attached) means it’s usually feast or famine because it appeals to a certain type of dive/brawl player.
Tanks are always unappealing to most players or else we wouldn’t have the long queue time problems. Good news for me that I like dive/brawl tanks myself, just not the Overwatch ones usually.
Reinhardt is prob the better brawler and firestrike goes through shield (And pretty much anything barring deflect/absorb). Also, Shatter often just win fights.
D.Mon is more of a mobile brawler for verticality but lacks the strong ult like Rein has.
