I remember when they launch this new forum and they said that with this new forum they can make polls and a lot of things.
Then they create a post asking what map we dont like… but after this post, they dont create any new poll again…
Is so sad.

The balance is little to nonexistent and it is horrible too.
I really fail to see with what they are so “buys” about. Maybe with OW2 and OWL the “replay system”
Yep. Couldn’t agree more. I won’t tell someone how to spend their time, but it seems to me that if I hated the game I’d rather spend my free time focused on something else. I imagine for some people, they find the the idea of the game to be fun, but don’t like it any more for ahatever reason. And for some, it becomes more fun to hate on it which is just… weird.
I do need to disagree on a point though.
I would argue some promises (or perceived promises) have been broken or at the very least, ring hallow.
My biggest gripe would be Jeff saying in 2018 new comics were coming. Which seems pretty clear cut. One of the major aspects that drew me to the game initially was the world that was being built up by a company known for including story in a lot of their games.
I can wait a few months. But it has been a year. I’d love to know when the new comics are actually coming at this point.
I still love and play the game daily, but I think there’s some fair criticism to be had for at least a few things.
I also remember when they said that console and pc will have diferent balance xdddddd
That’s true. I miss the comics, too. I got the hardback collection of the first set and was looking forward to the second but it never came. I took Jeff’s statement as more of something that was true at the time but then changed for whatever reason. Maybe it changed when Blizzard had a lot of internal restructuring or maybe they decided after that to redirect resources to upcoming projects and reserve lore for those. It’s pretty evident that there was a semi-recent priority shift since they full-on canceled their Starcraft FPS to focus on other titles, one of which is Overwatch-related.
Just like every relationship, at the beginning there are all these promises, then as time passes it becomes something else.
They say they gonna do stuff, never do, then the other side becomes bitter and gets angry over everything.
Black Ops 4 really did not do well.
All the money from that games short lifespan came from the obscene amount of micro transactions.
Did I forget to mention that you can pay a few dollars for a reticle?
Yeah, I totally understand things change and what not. I guess my gripe is just about the lore in general. I expected the lore to be coming faster, or at the very least, more consistently.
It has been three years, we’ve learned a bit about the archives events, Winston started the recall, reaper and the gang are up to some stuff at volskaya, and mccree retrieved echo.
That’s been it for the large part. We atarted with recall and the lore has barely gone anywhere for a game that I expected comics from consistently because of the company behind the game.
I’ve been playing their games since I was 6 back in 1999. Maybe my expectations were too high. But it seems incredibly strange to me that they hired an award winning scifi author last year but we’ve got almost nothing to show for it. Not even a “things changed /have been delayed, it’s still on the radar.”
It’s frustrating to say the least lol.
Don’t forget about the promised lore and more lore tidbits with the hiring of the new writer. And “comics coming soon” for a year.
We never got one for Storm Rising. Just a cliffhanger
Blizzard is a AAA company who is fully capable of hiring more people of they want to make something happen. They’ve done it before hundreds of thousands of times.
They can if they want
Oh, and they still have done nothing against smurfs.
So i will keep on abusing the system they have and report each and every one-
Overwatch was build to cater to the growing E-Sports marked. Blizzard went full inn on the concept to the exclusion of everything else.
So all the big promises they made was just empty PR bull to sell copies and keep people playing. The penultimate goal was to get as many players over to watch OWL, to cash in big on that market.
The time when Blizzard cared about their players, is long gone. We’re basically measured in return on investment, and if we return less than E-Sports, we’re simply not worth the time.
And we got a Workshop, and a Replay system.
Tbh it’s not much, but let’s see what they have for the rest of the year.
They’re physically capable of doing it, yes, but they’re not going to if it costs an unreasonable amount of time and resources without any reason to believe that they’d profit from it, which they wouldn’t since all updates are free in this game. They could also release a new hero every week but that’s an equally impractical idea.
Mercy’s rework is where everything went downhill.
It was all fine until that day, when we had this unbalanced Hero who has seen nothing but the worst ever since, with constant backlash, an uproar that she’s too overpowered, then underpowered, a rework that everyone wanted reverted…
After this, it was no better. Symmetra got a re-work and a LOT of her fan base left. They were upset that their Hero was removed from the game, it was after Hanzo and Torbjörn that I began to fall out of love with the game, some lore sprays don’t make sense and the game will never be the same after the removal of certain Heroes.
This is where it all went wrong, re-works are never healthy for the game.
This is my biggest source of frustration from this game. I expected wonky balance changes just coming from WoW and HotS. I expected some static events because not much has changed in Wow events, but HotS was newer with changing events. I was open minded in that way.
But every single game that has any starting point with lore that blizzard owns has tons of lore. Warcraft has hundreds of novels and short stories. StarCraft and Diablo, while I don’t know them well, have fully fleshed out stories. Both aren’t an MMO like WoW who depends on lore. Hearthstone and HotS both didn’t start with lore so I expected none. Even though HotS has some lore as does Hearthstone.
So in what way would I not expect the exact same treatment to Overwatch? Why wouldn’t it have a continuous story? I didn’t even expect a yearly cinematic honestly. But I expected that they’d keep producing comics and maybe a graphic novel eventually.
Then I learned how the one was cancelled with the most plip poor excuse a company can make.
"We’re not making lore to mess with people’s headcanons because they’re better!
"
That’s a very poor excuse for a company who never have a flying fish with headcanons. Thrall and Jaina were headcanon to be a couple. They’re not. But that was very, very popular. Not blizzard knew better.
So now suddenly they don’t want to mess with people’s headcanons? I’m calling bull. It’s a poor excuse to not want to do extra work
In fact, Blizz had even made jokes about that headcanon. In WoW.
In gnomergan there is / was quest involving retrieving some punch cards. One of which reads “Thrall and Jaina sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G”
Yeah exactly reworks killed this game for me. The sym rework was just a spit in the face to anyone that played 2.0. Her skills don’t translate to any other hero’s it’s great the devs don’t want us in their game.
I bought the game because I found sym so interesting for an fps now this is some bull crap they pulled on me
He also said in an interview the deadlines they were given seemed super tight and probably outright unrealistic.
Looks like he was right. /shrug
But that’s exactly the point though.
Actual promises and perceived promises are two completely different things, as the latter is actually a complete waste of time, and is nothing more than just the community’s unrealistic expectations.
All that’s going on here is people complaining about such perceived promises, but that’s not Blizzard breaking anything, that’s just us complaining just for the sake of it, which holds 0 weight in the conversation.
