Double barrier and goats were a 6v6 problem where multiple tanks had insane synergy together to the point that not even nerfs were able to shift the meta
Orisa and sigma got nerfed so many times but they would still be meta because of synergy. Multiple tanks can’t work together without ruining the game, as a tank main i love 5v5 and the freedom it gives you
Yeah but 5v5 created new problems as well. There is no backline protection anymore and with the power of some DPS it makes things very one sided. Off-tanks coupled with main tanks shored up the defences effectively enough for the weaker team to actually have a chance, now the better DPS just destroy the good dps and healers then its over. Makes things very one sided a lot of the time.
I am telling you right now, if it was 6v6 sojourn wouldn’t be a problem because of hog. Hes been so effective for me for shutting her down as I have no problem hooking moving or airborne fast targets.
I don’t understand why so many players want to return the 6v6 2-2-2 system. Not only was is so stale but was frustrating to play especially for tanks. I stopped playing the game because of how frustrating that was. There is a lot to complain about in OW2 but the 5v5 1-2-2 system is much more fun and healthier for the game.
The well defined problems with 6v6 tanking was double shields, which would be gone with the Orisa rework, getting an unreliable tanking partner just feeding, which tbh is now just one of my supports or DPS just permanently dead to the flankers or one shots that have much more free reign. The last one would be getting double off tank Hog Ball etc. Which fair enough, but I feel like that was mainly picked a lot due to priority pass DPS players not really caring, and the fact the more fun tanks duo’s had been nerfed to the ground. Dive in ow1 was dead, Rush was near enough dead, it doesn’t surprise me people just picked tanks they could sustain themselves well enough on.
Still think Open queue should be reworked into OW classic. 2/2/2, lowered tank HP pools, and no role passives.
Players seem more unhappy with OW2 OQ compared to the OW1 since tanks are broken in every mode. While we’re at it role passives/tank buffs should be removed in the arcade.
Get outta here with that bs. There was a massive issue for 3 years and it’s finally fixed. Cope as much as you want but this is the direction they wanted to take the game and thank god they did.
