6v6 is wrong 5v5 is better

The game should’ve always stayed 5v5. There just should’ve only ever been 1 healer. 2 tanks, 2 dps, 1 healer works wonders with the amount of sustain the healers today have now.

Only having 1 tank makes the game unplayable, having 1 healer is what it should’ve been.

Everything about 6v6 feels better. I’d played nothing except 6v6 until tonight. I queued up for 5v5, and it feels miserable.

In 5v5, every role has less agency.

I would say dps have the least amount of agency

DPS have incredible agency in 6v6. They can actually flank. 5v5 supports are too strong and evasive for a flanker. Flanking DPS in 5v5 is a free kill for the enemy.

I think the game would be worse with one healer because that person would have to be some giga healer. Imagine giga Mercy, Bap or Ana for example. Beyond that, it’d be a nightmare for the one healer because they’d be perpetually dived.

I’d like to see this tried as a mode though. Maybe for April Fools? They could call it Overwatch 3 and make the healer extremely OP, but there’s only one of them.

5v5 is a more professional mode, but 6v6 is a more fun mode IMO. We can just have both. Don’t you guys get tired of playing the same maps and the same modes in the same compositions? Because now, I go between both and each time it feels like a fresh experience.

Hmm, let’s see. Enemy team picks widow and snipes your Ana first 3 seconds, gg the fight is lost.

In 6v6 the team doesn’t collapse on itself when 1 person dies. It’s like having 2 kidneys, one fails, the other keeps you alive. Saying 5v5 is the right way when it was designed to be 6v6 is stupid.

It’s going to suffer from the same problems that transitioning to one tank had, some supports are going to be gigabuffed to compensate and AOE supports would usually be better than single targets

Eh not really, their ult combo bots either starters or finishers in 6v6.

Were your mostly just poking at the enemy tanks, while safely tucked away behind yours if not your directly playing a flanker. Who are also easily spaced out if by the fact supports don’t have to burn major cooldowns early in the fight to save or set-up the tank like they do in 5v5.

Active gameplay wise your pretty much just waiting for your tanks to blow an opening for you to shoot at anything other then the enemy’s which can take a while, especially in chokes or maps with long lane pushes.

5v5 you can just shoot the other dps/supports, without too much push back if your not directly targeted by the enemy tank. Which is a fact is a fact people that complain about 5v5 completely miss or gas light themselves into thinking that the tank is the only important kill.

Be it that you can like either or, the fact their willing to support both is cool.

i dont even know anyone as i further mentally degrade into nothingness liek ive adapterd to 5v5 but i think they changed variables wher the game is only fun if you play only certain heroes

Wait, 6v6 is gone? Dang it. Not really wanting to go back to 5v5.

Paladins has a meta with that composition I’m pretty sure and it works fairly well.

Nothing about 6v6 feels better except for DPS killing Tanks easier

Tanks are made of paper when they’re not directly synergizing and pocketing eachother

And supports are so boring just sitting in the backline healbotting

This is straight up delusional lol

How do tanks, who desperately depend on another tank to be able to survive in 6v6, have “more agency” compared to 5v5 where they just get to play the game? Depending on another tank to survive is the opposite of agency.

How do Supports, who are relegated mostly to healbotting because they have two tanks to keep up and their tanks have less HP so they can’t let them take as much damage, have “more agency” compared to 5v5 where they can be way more active in the fight and play more offensively if they want to?

You might be able to argue that DPS have more agency simply from Tanks being easier to kill, but thats essentially nullified when versing two tanks means you have less angles to take against the enemy DPS/Supports

You’re just making things up saying every role has less agency in 5v5 lmao

Lmao what? With a 2nd tank to peel you off of whoever you try to flank? Brother you’ve lost your marbles

Only 1 healer has the same effect: healer dies → team follows

See the funny thing is how this just isnt true in the slightest and can be tested with a singular game of 6v6, and oh look, tanks dont magically take up the entire map! I mean christ the amount of comps that dont even run shield still, the amount of off angles that ALWAYS existed, if youre someone who just sits and shoots tanks all game thats literally the fault of the player because its not always the right decision.

I mean good lord youre sitting here genuinely trying to say the addition of a singular tank suddenly means ope I cant shoot anything other than tanks now! Like what? You surely just love lying for funsies.

If anything 6v6 is even better at allowing you to take off angles because when a tank comes to contest you off the angle you ACTUALLY have a chance at winning the fight, the off tank who abandons the frontline actually has to respect you.

Its just crazy to me how even now that we have 6v6 in the game you freaks still just lie and lie and lie when anyone youre talking to has actually played the mode and knows youre wrong.

So fun fact about chokes! they might as well do that very thing. Play a game of first point hollywood, fights can stall out hard their.

Secondly You don’t need shields to peel, just be bulky and have the ability to run at a given target. Meaning 1 can deal with the front line for a second, while the other interrupts whatever your doing. Especially if your playing against a zarya, d.va.

let alone that supports don’t need to burn thing like suzu / nade / lamp for the tanks as often because the tanks can very much synergies and peel for each other, like in the ye old rien/zarya. Which gives supports a lot of room to throw cooldowns at you, that they don’t have in 5v5.

Do to them being the main combo / peel tools for the tank.

Lol, how to say you didn’t read the full post.

I said for you to comfortable get at the rest of the team, you need your own tanks to break through their lineup first.

Were once you have the momentum, or team gets the first pick. You general steam roll through the rest of the enemy team.

Theres a reason why it started as 6v6 and also a reason it won game of the year. I dont see ow2 winning much unless you count biggest failure. Keep your 5v5 and hemmorage your player base or go back to ow1 to try to salvage what little you can. Clocks ticking fast.

Lol, Ow1 was basically a total experiment. By devs that didn’t make shooters, but primarily RPG’s.

That had a lot dysfunctional elements that broke down as learned how people played the game. Original it was effectively their take on Tf2, with an expanding character rooster instead of weapon unlocks.

But quickly found out that character synergies between tanks, kind of just… kept the whole characters countering other character things from working.

OW won game of the Year because it was genre defining, that started a whole major industry trend. Not because it was a magically solid game that didn’t have flaws, Especially when said flaws didn’t prop up till like year or so down the line.

Say what you will it worked and worked well this however doesnt. The forums get more play time then the actual game.

Fun fact about chokes, this doesnt change whether theres one or two tanks for the sole reason that each tank is weaker and more easily able to be shoved off an angle with damage.

They are still good at holding chokes, but outside of the literal pro level the amount of stalemating they have is no different, if not for the single fact that rush down comps are MUCH stronger now with more options than OW1 had with the likes of Hazard, JQ, Juno, etc.

I havent played a SINGLE game where fights get stuck at chokes, because getting stuck at chokes has become a compositional issue at this point.

Also youre delulu if you think support are able to hold cooldowns more in 6v6, thats just legit not how the game is played at all. These characters STILL take damage, and theres another person for supports to take care of and maintain. Theres a reason Ive seen support players crying on these forums about not being able to DPS bot anymore, and its because you actually have to put more into healing, you actually have to put cooldowns towards maintaining instead of being allowed to keep them all you want and use them as reactions to hard engages.

And yeah how to say you didnt read what I said, because I outright told you that if all you do on DPS is sit at frontline and shoot tanks its a YOU problem. Off angles still exist in 6v6 just as much as they do in 5v5, if youre going to be a mindless silver doing nothing but “wah wah i hate shooting at only tanks!” its because youve boxed yourself into doing that for no other reason than you like to cry about it
