They’ve said absolutely nothing about an OQ 6v6 test lmao, it’s never happening. The only thing we’ll be getting out of these tests if they are successful is RQ.
What they REALLY want is DPS on par, or even above DPS heroes as well as the above. In order to not get chain stunned, the only solution is to nerf those who do stuns…tanks and Ana.
The myth that tanks would be happy as defensive juggernauts with offense counterbalanced to their defensive advantages doesn’t stand the light of day.
i think you quoted the wrong person. haven’t the lead designer both said and implied for years the dev team is not interested in doing specific balance changes to open queue? id assume oq 6v6 would fall under that same area as well
I played 6 tank games with my tank buddy last night. Other roles had 1min queues whereas tank had 3-4 min queues, though those 4 min queues were often <1 min
Tanking felt great. My buddy mostly quit after OW2 and he actually said he’d consider ranked in 6v6 and he’s never been a ranked enjoyer
??? man I flex que in that mode only and less than 1/3 of my games i even get tank. I 100% quit playing tank in ow2 because of the move to 1 tank. now that it’s back that’s all I WANT to play but I’ma team player so I flex. what are you talking about ? lol
I flex queued for a few hours last night and only got tank twice. I can’t remember exact number of games but it was at least 10, probably more. A few games were DPS but majority support (which is fine by me). Console plat range for context. I’m sure that’ll change but I’m sure there’ll be enough of us flex players to make up for things?!
No… this isn’t made up at all lmao. 6v6ers have been insisting tanking will be popular (not most popular, but popular) if they brought 222 back now that they’ve added more heroes to the role. 6v6ers have been claiming 222 had such bad queue times because they “let the game die” and stopped adding content (which is bs, queue times were bad long before content stopped). So now that there’s new content being pumped out regularly the logic would follow that queue times should be great for 222 going forward.
This post is 100% spot on. Queue times are going to fall apart from a lack of tank players if 222 stays long term
im an avid 6v6 enthusiast but they purposefully botched this test.
keeping roll passives sucks.
keeping s9 hp increases sucks ALOT.
keeping the s9 bigger bullets is dumb.
double buffing ana so she can spam more cds was so stupid.
they have no idea how to balance the ow2 tanks in 6v6, including the reworked ow1 tanks, and it shows tremendously.
they didnt revert the blanket ow2 hitscan fall-off nerfs.
they didnt revert the SEVERAL ow2 healing/damage buffs for most supports.
all dps besides tracer/sojourn are weaker than they were in ow1.
all supports besides mercy are stronger than they were in ow1.
the tank balance is literally just up in the air. you can just tell its so jank.
this isnt 6v6. this is 5+1v5+1. i honestly hate it. all this “test” did was be a large billboard showing off all the things wrong in ow2. its awful and blatant.
i wouldnt of looked forward to this test if i knew they were going to be stubborn and force their plethora of terrible ow2 changes theyve made. i honestly believe the things they didnt revert were bc they forget they added them. lmao.
since s9 i hate playing this game outside of 6v6 classic. guess ill be sticking to marvel rivals until the next 6v6 classic comes out.
like, who asked for the tankiest/bullet sponge version of 6v6 weve ever had via s9 hp buffs, with ultra buffed ow2 supports, and mega nerfed dps. christ.
It’s almost like when you sabatoge the 6v6 test with horrid balancing and do things like making rein objectively less fun and clunkier with the steering change and removing a firestrike charge, people won’t play.
No one wants to play tank when everyone still has boosted HP pools so you still have to rely on dps passive to kill anything. It’s so simple man.
Also the dps passive is stronger against tanks in the 6V6 mode than it is in the 5v5 live version lmfao.

Nope! They actually bothered this time so i been queuin up for hours of Tank already.
Patch could probably be better-- 5v5 is a cancer sapping our strength, but the mode is still fun.
It’ll probably have more players when they put more effort into it (crazy idea, I know), but I’m content with embarrassing Main during only peak queues instead of during all queues in this round of 6v6 (which is still funny to call its own mode since OW is designed around it but oh well )
Last night I played about 4 1/2 hours. I usually just flex queue but last night I queued about 50% flex and %50 Tank and DPS. I was playing with some support mains queuing DPS and Support and they weren’t getting the roll, so I was trying to make the odds better plus I wanted to tank more.
I only got tank for around 4 games. Game really wanted me to play DPS/Support. I think people are showing up.

222/122 is far easier to balance. They are not going to add 6v6/5v5 RQ as well as 6v6/5v5 OQ. That hard splits the queues, made worse with Marvel Rivals sitting in the corner chewing on OW’s leg.
More than likely, they are going to remove OQ altogether to reduce the queue times and accomodate for 6v6. Pink Mercy has nothing to do with what concerns the overall health of the game.
If you want OQ, go play Rivals.
