6v6 developer Q&A summary

Remove that dps passive and adjust each support healing numbers individually if you have to.

It is so bad because it removes player agency, I want to know exactly how much my healing ability will provide.

This was always a problem. You know how the Classic event trailer had D.Va and Hog running towards each other? Well that’s because that was actually the most common tank duo. And it was not exactly a match made in heaven.

Off tanks were way more popular than main tanks back in the day.

I don’t remember the exact values but yes. It was from the Spilo interview thread. My point is in 6v6 supports should be the same as everyone else and the DPS passive should go away too.

Ya i had that too but i generally could make it work atleast in our ranks but ball hog torture was a different level.:joy:

If the Dva was good, it was a free win. I terrorized those old school lobbies with a competent Dva. But man, there were so many Dva that were just like, I have no clue why they were playing Dva. Actually, I know exactly why they played her.

I really hope the devs understand that the DPS and Ult reduction passive significantly harm the flow of the game. If we have to shoot and heal tanks in 6v6, I think it’s imperative that we receive ult charge for it. The ults are the most fun part of overwatch and limiting it harms the experience as a whole. These passives harm the experience for all 3 roles.

I think the dps passive also needs to be removed and supports’ healing should be nerfed if they think it will be a problem in 6v6. This allows more specific control on healing interaction in the game rather than a blanket solution that unfairly affects tanks. Tank being fun makes people want to play tank. All roles can be enjoyable, and acting like someone has to suffer is irrational.

It’s almost as if a stagnant role becomes more popular when the role and the game overall starts receiving updates again… Who knew! I reckon the tank role would be in a similar position if they didn’t force players to solo tank lol.

I think they should just treat 6v6 as how Riot treat ARAM corresponding to Summoners Rift.

I’m a bit indifferent with it. I’ve always been a Tank main, but prefer the 6v6 format. Blizzard just hasn’t gotten it right with tanks in 6v6, so I agree that nerfs to the tank roster would be a bit scary. I just have to see how it goes first to decide which should be the main focal point.

I hope they come to their senses and revise this, getting 2v2v2 before limit 3 is a good change of schedule, even if limit 3 ends up having the better balance patch because of it, hopefully this isn’t finalized too. At the very least can they decide to remove the passives when they become problematic.
