Balance wise i think hes better than DPS doom but still awful compared to other tanks except D.Va and hog depending on the player. But he is trash to play, feels awful, and I hate it.
Well I wonât deny Ana is kind of stupid and Sojourn really shouldnât have a slow in her field thingy. Iâm not saying blizzard is perfect because everyone knows thatâs genuinely so untrue. But I think in a general sense what they did with Doomfist was alright.

Itâs not nearly as annoying since he canât slam on top of you and CC spam you to death in two seconds.
but he can punch twice and seismic slam still stuns, not to mention he can also soak up damage so heâs a fairly strong duelist
In my experience at least, Doomfist felt less of a chore to deal with. None of the games I played against him felt like a nightmare, really.
You say cc spam you to death but his slow on slam and new rocket punch cc is more effective than ow1 dooms cc.
Itâs the high burst damage you and others donât like.
He has better cc just less burst damage but for some reason people refuse to admit they hate the burst damage more so than the cc on ow1 doom even though thereâs nothing wrong with saying you hate it.
Itâs a part of it, but the fact that he actually has to work for the CC other than doing it of CD is part of it. Hence when I say âCC Spam.â He has to Power Block now for it, so itâs not something he can throw out every 5 seconds. And tbh Iâm not really in the mood for discussing this further after your thinly veiled attempt at rank shaming me. OW1 Doom wasnât healthy, case and point.
But he doesnât have to work for it? His punch already hits multiple people at once and holding power block up and getting charge is basic in terms of âworking for itâ compared to the reward of a full 1 second stun that can hit multiple targets and a much longer cc distance range and speed.

I mean itâs common knowledge lower ranks hate doom, pair this with a widow player and youâve got a combo of hate towards the hero.
Widow isnât healthy, hanzo isnât healthy, tracer isnât healthy (the list goes on and on) should we rework these heroes as well?

Doomfist is incredibly vulnerable when using Power Block, his backside takes full damage IIRC and doesnât contribute towards the charge, and his significantly slowed movement leaves him open for counteractive CCs to shut him down. Iâd say thatâs a fair trade.

Again, Iâve already stated that Iâm aware of my biases and that my thoughts are most definitely skewed in someway, but I do know that my experience with other heroes alongside shared opinions is enough to prove to me that my line of thinking at the bare minimum isnât unreasonable. As long as the CC is outwardly obnoxious. Getting your movement restricted by two abilities while also getting hard stunned and knocked back ON TOP of a one shot is obnoxious. At least new Doomâs CC give you some form of opportunity to escape since itâs most just a slow and displacement unless the punch is charged. It should also be considered that in OW1, CC was everywhere, so having to deal with Doomfist on top of someone like Roadhog, Cassidy, Ana, Mei, etc made it even more difficult to deal with. Now that CCs received a mass tone down, alongside CC being mostly in the Tank Role now (alongside having only one Tank)⌠it starts to appear a lot less agonizing to contend with. I can understand why One-Shots and CC are widely disliked, but it becomes even worse when theyâre mixed together, something that no other hero has except OW1 IIRC.
So you have more cc to deal with doom in ow1âŚ

You had opportunities and methods to escape and combat doom in his previous kit, good movement negates rocket punch, cc and mobility abilities negate uppercut and same goes for slam.
Iâm simply stating a lot of you guys that hate doom brand it as a âccâ thing when in reality itâs the high burst damage you hate. Youâve semi agreed with this already by stating heâs not much of an issue in ow2 when heâs attacking you.
He now has more overall damage and more overall cc as a tank but no oneâs complaining about it due to the lack of high burst damage and one shots ![]()

seismic slam puts you on a predictable path, you slow yourself for rocket punch and uppercut throws you into the air in a predictable path as well

This is negated somewhat when utilizing his Techs to approach from a variety of unusual angles. Sure, heâs quite loud when using abilities, so listening is one way to combat it, but regardless itâs still difficult to predict where he coming from cause, again, Doom Techs enable some incredibly wonky, unorthodox angles that have the ability to bypass a teams front line when used properly, and the speed of execution can make it difficult to react.
Just because his CC is âbetterâ doesnât really change the fact itâs less obnoxious to deal with when it isnât couple with High Burst Damage. Youâre right, it is a large part of why heâs disliked⌠but I assure you that this wouldnât have been as problematic if he had one or the other to begin with. CC + One-Shot feels incredibly unfair to play against since youâre ability to try and get out of it is literally disrupted to some extent because of the air control loss, pull in and hard stun he possesses. If his kit chose between having a one-shot but little to no CC, or having CC, but weaker burst damage, itâd feel more fair. Being borderline stunlocked into a combo that kills you in mere seconds doesnât feel remotely fair at all. Overall however, the CC is the primary culprit since itâs what enables this annoying dynamic of forcefully disabling someone into a high damage combo/one-shot. Now in OW2, sure⌠Doom has better CC or whatever, but itâs definitely not nearly as problematic since he canât nearly as easily perform a one-shot combo or stunlock you into oblivion due to his overall damage being toned down. Again, itâs not just the CC or just the high damage, itâs both being combined where these issues begin to arise. And yes, I do agree that his burst damage being reduced is definitely a reason as to why heâs being complained about less, but to me PERSONALLY, the CC being less agitating to deal with alongside the fact that heâs the only Tank and (on average) source of significant CC is what overall makes him less difficult to deal with.

Yet he has one of the most balanced one shots in the game that requires him to throw himself into the enemy to secure it whilst widow and hanzo can clip you from range whilst not having to worry about making mistakes or misplays.
Weird how ana brig and mercy players can still survive my 125 slam into uppercut when they have good reaction times, this is why uppercut recovery time was nerfed remember to give players even more time to react, almost like itâs skill issue for those certain ranks and players that struggle with reacting.
You can learn the rollouts yourself and predict where heâs gonna go or take an advantageous angle to have a better viewpoint of potential rollout spots, canât remember the last time I died to a doom rollout on any role simply because I know what the enemy doom is gonna do and where he can come from.
Youâre calling his combos and one shot unfair when heâs one of the easiest heroes to counter in higher ranks and is countered by a vast majority of the hero pool.
Doom hard engaging to secure a kill whilst putting his life on the line is one of the most fair trade offs in the game when you compare him to heroes like widow hanzo tracer who can all do what he does but 10x better with less threat of dying.
Ah yes the stun lock combo that allows you to move shoot and react in 2 out of 3 of his abilities very hard to counterâŚ
If you wanna talk about âunfairâ one shots letâs look at widow, 200hp hero with infinite one shot potential at basically any range on most maps, an escape method and mobility ability that is grapple, an ability that stops weaker flankers, alerts widow to their presence and allows for her to see them through walls, one shot that isnât on cool-down and has no risk involved, you miss a shot? Oh well carry on shooting no problem.
Oh and the ultimate that lets you see everyone through walls and the cherry on top a weak yet still present smg that helps her in close range. But yeh sure doom is unfair to play againstâŚ
Hanzo with his high burst machine gun storm arrows, wall climbing mobility, leap to avoid dives, no cool-down one shot with hyper range with no risk involved in using it and a mini wall hack on cool-down. The audacity to claim doom is unfair whilst ignoring these two is dumb.

The funny part about comments like this is Doomfist is actually stronger in OW2 as a tank currently than he is in OW1 as a dps.
Anyone who believed heâs Op in Ow1 massively failed a skill check. Feel free to argue heâs âannoyingâ or âfrustratingâ (which, along with CC changes, are prime reasons heâs actually being changed) but Op?
