If you only use letters and nothing else you can also only use “<” and “>”

You can also use backticks (These things ` | Often on the Tilde ~ key.) to reveal code in most situations.
For example, I could format:

PANCAKES WILL RULE THE WORLD

BUT, if I wrap the HTML and the phrase in backticks…
<h1>PANCAKES WILL RULE THE WORLD</h1>
It simply shows as monospace/plain text, ignoring the formatting code. Makes it look much more elegant.

The best way to insure invisible text is threw the HTML comments. (<!--[Text goes here]-->) Removes the restrictions with punctuation and special characters.
