Correct, which I am sure is not helping matters out at all - and I have just confirmed via social media postings from DH attendees that DH Dallas is having some major tech issues in general atm, so this is by no means isolated to OWCS’ streams (even though I’m sure some wish it was).
Mmm…a fine idea it would make, if the Dallas Cowboys as a whole isn’t looked down on by the sports world due to it’s current owner. But certainly a Dallas collab of some kind should be workable - I mean, how many OW-related events has Dallas hosted by this point? Has to be getting close to double digits by now.
See above - DH in general is having widespread issues, so sadly, OW is not alone.
Inb4 that Porsche car is revealed to be the reason behind DH’s Internet issues…
Probably the same person who trips over the power cord and took down the servers.
As others have mentioned, and as I just edited my OP to clarify, Day 1 matches have been delayed (no score currently) due to DreamHack Wi-Fi officially dethroning “World of Warcraft servers on patch day” for the title of “Worst servers to host a major Blizzard game competition on”. 1 hour rewards should have trickled in for most of you, and you should be able to get a decent start towards 2 hours earned rewards while we wait for news updates. I will update as soon as I have something.
In any case, 2 hours earned rewards should be trickling in soon if y’all are still watching a drops enabled stream while the technical issues are sorted out - and while BadPachimari is dragged before the tribunal for judgment…
Uhh, folks, I think it’s not just the stream that crashed…
Someone is currently broadcasting from their seat at DreamHack (which Flats_OW was able to find and “co-stream” on his Twitch channel) and they do not appear to have completed Map 3…the faces of broadcast talent, along with the players of NRG Shock and ENCE, tells me DreamHack Wi-Fi may have bit the bullet again…or supposedly, we had an unauthorized entry onto the stage of play.
UPDATE: Stream is coming back online now…the matches should hopefully be back underway in a couple of minutes…
And with that, it is likely Day 2’s broadcast schedule is going to see some changes…
I hate how complicated they make this stuff. I have no idea what Twitch channels or YouTube channels I’m supposed to watch, what time, and I hate how you can ONLY get things if you watch those specific streams at those specific times, which for me are always at a bad time.
And with that, and after a stream which has exceeded 10 hours and was highlighted by 3+ hours of delays spawned by technical issues, the American Nightmare that was Day 1 of the 2024 OWCS Major at DreamHack Dallas (mercifully) comes to a close. For NRG Shock/SOG and Twisted Minds, unfortunately, it is homeward bound. For Crazy Raccoon, Team Falcons, Toronto Defiant, M80, Spacestation Gaming, and ENCE, though, their quest to be crowned the first-ever OWCS LAN champions will continue on into Day 2 at DreamHack Dallas. As of now, Day 2 of the OWCS Major will begin streaming at 1245pm Central time (1045am Pacific, 145pm Eastern) - HOWEVER, please stay tuned to OW Esports social media, as the schedule for tomorrow may or may not change slightly as a result of today’s extensive delays. Thank you all for your patience today (and throughout the weekend), and here’s to hoping DreamHack is able to iron out any remaining gremlins in the system prior to matches kicking off tomorrow - until tomorrow, I’m Arena25, saying good night and Charlie Niners.
