my take is that tanks needed changing for OQ but a blanket -150 hp nerf was lazy and ill thought out, tanks shouldnt have less than 400 base hp, some slight modification to there sustain abilities would have been much preferred.
People already run triple tank double heals, the nerf was needed.

We already tried to do a 1 tank 5 dps 1 support guess what, that was horrible af.
A tank shouldnât have lower health than a bastion who is a dps lol.
Open queque is for me, 90% of time 1-2-2. Sometime itâs 2 tank 1 DPS 2 support, but you also see 3 support 2 tank ecc ecc. The nerfed HP makes the game playable, what role lock isnât with the invincible tank boss mode.
Ball/Monkey/DVa, triple DPS Mercy comps incoming.
Just like in OW1 OQ, but down one dps.
While I think the 150 nerf to all isnât a great solution, it is still better than the insane tanks we had before. Tank and support stacking is still the strongest comps.
Imo if itâs a solo tank there should be no health nerf. If there is more than 1 it applies. Or do changes specific to each tank, but I doubt they would do that for non role queue modes.
If it is limited to 2 tanks max, they still canât be as powerful as in role queue, that would also be broken.
I agree they should make it a -200 blanket HP nerf, since the meta still is 3 tank 2 supports.
Where are these people playing that they see so many tanks?
I play in Plat/Diamond. Most games are 1-2-2, followed by 2-1-2.
3-0-2 is rare, itâs typically a end game rage pick comp when your getting rolled.
Solo tanking into 2-1-2 or 3-0-2 is like the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. Revert the nerf and sure you still cant make plays, but you wont explode. Very dumb change.
Yeah, they had to nerf them because everyone complained about The Return Of Goats.
Tank mitigation, support healing and their synergy is so good it makes OQ games impossible to balance - if theyâre ok solo, theyâre overpowered with more than one. It stagnated team comps in OW1 which is why we have RQ in the first place ![]()
I still canât believe that tanks were never properly balanced in open queue. Some tanks are fine but others are throw picks unless you have a pocket healer. Started playing rq again just so to play Doom and Ramattra without immediately dying
devs alredy told you OQ is not where balance happens. shocking it takes so much time for you to realize

Time is running fast it feels like yesterday i was ranting about the aimbot patch.

And yet the devs said 6v6 wasnât going to happen and here we are. I donât want to hear it. They never even balanced all the tanks for role queue and open queue was completely forgot about after a low effort nerf.
They arenât going to balance for OQ, especially competitive

I do think, if 6 v 6 RQ continued until today, what we see in current 5 v 5 OQ would be the current state of tanks in 6 v 6. So have fun with that.
-150 health just makes tanks without armor or mitigation a joke.
I played before the nerf, and it was like GOATS had never left the building.
So I welcome the change. 3 tanks is still king in that mode most of the time, despite the HP nerfs.
