šŸ”· Diamond Players - Your rank is terrible

That’s still kinda depressing

I hear different takes on this so I’m never sure. I argued that in a different thread where I claimed that gold was average and people replied saying gold is below average and that plat is actually average so I don’t even know anymore. :woman_shrugging:

Eh not really, being better than 85% of the playerbase is definitely good enough :kissing:

(My last comp SR was 2986 :joy:)

I’m currently ā€œsmurfingā€ in plat as a GM support and I went from 85% WR to 55% WR, literally impossible to win games, people complain that they can’t climb but they are absolutely terrible and throw without even realizing.

What an atrocious elo.

The median lies in Gold, making this mostly the average player’s rank, but Plat makes up the upper range of the average spectrum.

Well, as fun as the matches are in Diamond it’s still not exactly overly impressive play is what I mean. That includes myself

Each rank is made of, (lets use diamond for example)

  • 40% plats afraid to fall back into plat, but got lucky into diamond.

-20% people who are better than plat and worse than masters.

-40% masters that dropped a rank and desperately want to get back to masters.

This leads to a very hostile work environment.

I hit GM and also got forum banned since then

Solo queue is always a mixed bag.

Bronze silver and gold are bad for teammates but because everyone is so bad, solo carrying is extremely easy depending on your role. Support is horrific for these roles but the other two are decent.

Plat is the worse because of the above. There’s 2 types of players in plat, those that have ranked from gold and below that have it engrained in their brain they need to 1v3 every fight to win and those who have been there long enough to know they need to work as a team. The problem with plat is players are good enough to not be 1v3’d extremely easily so players who aren’t GM+ will throw games until they leave that mindset they needed to be in for gold. Then those with the mindset of actually wanting to play as a team are stuck with those not doing so. As a result most matches are decided by who has the most players in a team working together.

Since most of these solo carry mindset players never get to diamond or above, this makes those roles alot more bearable to play since these are the ranks where people are beginning to play OW as it was actually designed consistently. Unless you get unlucky and the Blizzard matchmaker gives you the middle finger by sticking an off-role platinum tank in a masters game (thanks Blizzard for doing that to me BTW).

Actually plat is above average. Gold is the average rank.

Skill bar has been lowered so much since the game started to die, 3.8K SR is T500 now…

bcs it’s filled with people who think they deserve to be in masters/GM now that they reached the first shiny rank

Sounds like youve reached the rank you belong in

Welcome to several years of complaining about teammates and ā€œriggedā€ matchmaking
