šŸ’… The Symmetra rework we SHOULD have got

Absolutely not. Her lock on beam was the worst and I can barely tolerate it on Moira as is. I get you gou guys want Sym buffs and I think she’s a neat character, but that gun the WRONG direction to go in.

Sym had a much shorter range than Moira and no get out like Wraith.

cries It’s what she DESERVES. ESPECIALLY the golden glove/arm.

Oh imagine the goddess skin with the entire arm gold…

Moira is not lock on like omg it’s the animation of the beam when in reality it functions like zarya beam

I’m saying how it was a long time ago, which is what the person I am replying to seems to want. It was awful and I never want to see it again.

Any symmetra rework that gets rid of her turrets entirely is a good one

Um you ARE aware she had a smaller Photon Barrier BEFORE her rework, right?

Pretty sure THAT’S the Photon Barrier being thrown.

Might want to get rid of an ability or condense two abilities into one. Having too many buildings will be difficult to manage in combat. Less is more and all that. Example: Shield Generator places a 100 HP decaying Barrier on allies that stays on them for 5 seconds (rate of -20 a second) or until destroyed. If Barrier is destroyed and Ally is still in range of Generator/Generator is still active, a new Barrier will be placed on them after 7-10 seconds (the time the Generator will ā€œPulseā€ to refresh the shields. Pulse effect will be visible to enemies)

Large health packs give 250 health. That’s a bit too much coupled with the proposed Shield Generator on the field. If you want to put Turrets that heal, something more akin to:
Has 10 meter range heals multiple Allies
Heals for 10 HP a second
Lasts until destroyed/replaced
Doesn’t stack with other Turrets

Too stronk. I’m all for buffs to Symmetra but let’s be reasonable about them.

all fair suggestions

No way, starting with 30 is a death sentence. Since symm needs perfect tracking not only does she need more primary damage like 75/135/195 is more like it with a range of 15 meters minimum.

Only then will she be able to dps with the rest of the dps because well, she is a dps now.

Until she gets buffed she will suffer from her miserable 12 meter short range. Her turrets get destroyed because they are SO LOUD everyone knows they are deployed and stuck and she is essentially worthless except for 1st point on defense rendering her useless in all other situations even in that 1st point defense she has a very difficult time due to her amazingly low dps starting primary that needs to be ramped up basically when you are in danger up close liable to get melted yourself with a measly 200hp.

As long as that’s not lock - on, then this proposed rework seems pretty sweet to be honest…

There’s a special place in hell for people like you.

Her beam would be lock on. She would become an off support. That’s what her old beam did. 30/60/120

Its literally the same as sym 2.0

Sym has the Torb problem. The developers have talked about this publicly. They can’t buff the main part of her kit due to her having turrets. They can’t delete the turrets and put the power into her weapon because players would have a hissy fit over it. So, their hands are tied on what they can really do. One minor tweak and she’s destroying lower ranks, two minor tweaks and she’s destroying the higher ranks. Idk what they’re supposed to do here. She will likely always be a situational hero. A lot of heroes are situation, specifically other DPS. How do you fix Sym? I don’t know the answer to that without removing turrets from the game and focusing her power into her weapon.

Well that’s extremely unfortunate, because then a lot of the problems of the much inferior design - wise Symmetra 2.0 kit would resurface, some of which are the main reasons why she was rightfully reworked to Symmetra 3.0…

She has a lot of the same problems. But having TP and lock on would allow her to be a real menace in the back line.

The best thing is to bring back her mini photon barrier as an ability

Ehhh, not really, at least not from a design standpoint…

Aaaaand do we really want that when talking about a hero with such tiny skill requirements??

I don’t think so…

Yeah. It’s what we wanted all along. That’s why we do it.
