đź‘‹ Which hero do you think could use some more lore?

Not just talking about Zen here. (Who I am sure, is gonna get a lot of lore with OW2 release.)

Talking about Other heroes who aren’t really part of the main story.

Like maybe a side story about Wrecking Ball trip around the world.

Or more back story on Sigma growing up.

Or Moira teaching a class as a favor. (Maybe even going over Covid 19.)

We could have a lot of short side stories in coming months.

We could even do the poster hint thing again. (Which they did with OW1.)

Oh, that’s easy. All of them. The game doesn’t have enough lore.

I’d love to see another Junkrat & Roadhog cinematic

In my opinion Symmetra has the highest potential.

A misguided character, oblivious but now questioning if her desire to make the world better is actually pure in the vishkar corp. A unique character with links to others.

Here’s to Ow2

Honestly didn’t she get a comic last year with Sombra?

Talking about heroes whose Lore has been dived into a lot.

Or at least hasn’t for over 3 years. (Or a new hero who still has a lot of unknowns.)

Roadhog. Maybe it’ll finally explain why he doesn’t go unmasked (And why he wears a mask in the first place).

Idk, I don’t look at the comics

Lucio needs love. Wouldn’t mind more shimada lore either.

Lucio.
The boy finally gets some lore (His dad was behind the tech he uses) and it only came in the form of in game interactions with Mercy and Symmetra.

Symmetra, Sombra and Ashe in my opinion. Symmetra and Sombra are both very interesting. We also know pretty much nothing about Ashe. The only person she interacts with is McCree, who she dislikes.

Symmetra & Lucio! I think them in a short story or animated short would be nice

Heh, all of them really.

This game’s “lore” is a skeleton.

I mean Chu left…

I don’t even know how much he actually did.

(Bits of lore every 2 months will likely help with the pause we are going though.)

We have almost no lore around Wrecking Ball. The only thing I even know about him is that he was on the Lunar Colony, is the Junkertown Champ, and is friends with Winston. That’s it.

He wasn’t tasked to do much anyway. He did what he was allowed to. They designed this game from the start to be an eSport, PvP-focused always-online multiplayer game. There’s no campaign, no lore. We have some comics, some CGI shorts and the spawn room banters between characters for “Lore”. We don’t even have a Mass Effect-style codex in the game itself or basic Character Bios in the Hero Gallery.

It’s the “higher ups” in the team or maybe somewhere at Activision for all we know who decided that this game would focus on MP, PvP and eSports. So whoever was the “Lead Writer” for OW truly didn’t have much to write for to begin with, regardless of who would have had the job. He probably left because as a writer he didn’t have anything to do there. I wouldn’t blame him if that was the case (but of course we’d never know).

We have to wait for OW2 to finally understand what in the heck is actually happening in this game’s world and who is doing what, who has what goals and agendas and who are Talon, what’s the state of the Omnics and so on. Considering that OW2 “picks up” right after Winston is pressing the Recall Overwatch red button in his 4 years-old CGI short all I can say is: was about damn time son.
