Yeah, China destroyed Syria, Lybia, Afghanistan, Iraq, now has itâs eye on Venezuela(because country with richest oil reserves) âŚ
How do you know it wasnât made in Taiwan or Korea? Why do you think you even have a valid argument?
Again, what do you want Blizz to do? They are a video game company not a place for politics.
If America stopped dealing with China cause of that our economy would hurt badly, they are a big buyer when it comes to our soy beans.
Omg we get it everyone is mad at Blizz because China and everyone here wants to feel good by taking a âstanceâ (these forums mean literally nothing to China). But weâre all going to keep buying products from China and indirectly supporting them. This bandwagon canât blow over fast enough.
Hey, I dig it that China is a massive trade partner and that change doesnât happen over night. But they literally have internment camps over there where they are sterilizing Uighur muslims and harvesting organs from members of Falun Gong.
When, exactly, do we draw the line in the sand and say enough is enough? This regime is the antithesis of Western values and we shouldnât support it. Itâs time to start pushing back on China. And video games are as good a place as any to start.
Pretty sure no sane person supports torture based on race or religion
Again, pretty sure no sane person supports censorship of differing opinion (looking at you SJWs)
Selling games to a nation with 1.4 billion potential customers, and supporting a nations government are not the same thing
Please tell me what Blizzard, a gaming company, can do to help. The best they can do is to not sell their games.
So let me get this straight
If a baker made some offensive joke on twitter, does that make their cakes worse?
I can understand that you donât want to support Blizzard, but donât come here with âit made Overwatch worseâ because Overwatch is a GAME that has no connections to the Chinese government.
A video of some guy talking or a letter with a few words isnât what the people of Hong Kong need, or even want.
Again, not supporting them.
And China doesnât hit all criteria that are requires to be labeled âFascistâ
Honestly, the best strategy is to do nothing and let them settle it out. A war with them could not only tank but destroy the world economy, they are a superpower.
Your point? I honestly canât see what you are trying to say here. Because some countries did it back then itâs ok now? Childish.
It does affect 1.4 Billion people. You know what else doesnât affect the majority of people? Gay rights, or minority rights? Itâs not about whether it affects you, itâs about doing the right thing.
And why not? What gives you the authority to dictate whether any person, company, or country, should try to proliferate the freedoms to people that they deserve.
If Blizzard is successfully boycotted it will send a message to other non-chinese companies to not bow to the whimâs of the fascist Chinese government or they will face repercussions.
You lack empathy, you should work on that.
Thatâs not the best strategy, itâs the easiest strategy. Or I suppose itâs the best strategy if you want to keep making money and donât care about the human impact.
War with China will never happen. Will the economy be impacted? Absolutely. But society as we know it wonât collapse if we start holding China accountable for some things.
no because other countries have done it the specific hate towards china doesnât make sense!
and i should care because?
they shouldnât get involved because they wanna keep selling games, simple as that!
they wonât be boycotted blizzard makes most of its money in china
Its just business.
Tell that to the climate. Or the Uighurs. Or the Hong Kong protestors.
âSorry things suck for you, but take heart that Iâm experiencing the very best in electronic entertainment.â
China is being held accountable by itâs own people, this problem doesnât affect us and if we sink our grubby hands in there it could start a chain reaction that could bite us in the rear
As a American we need to deal with our own stupid stuff as well, look at Trump plus how greedy and corrupt our country is.
we have to speak for the oppressed people under the chinese government, because no one can speak for them because their voices are silenced instantly, because itâs against the law to stand up to the government in china. thatâs why we have to fight for them.
Iâm not saying we need to invade, or impose tariffs, Iâm not even saying Blizzard or anyone has to stop doing business in China. But people lost their jobs because they voiced an opinion. Is that really the state of the world? Weâre powerless against this juggernaut?
I agree that oppression is wrong but why do we have to fight for them?
Like I said to DrCohen we have enough problems in our own country, we donât need to add helping China to that list
That playerâs opinion could of also costed jobs of the people who work for blizzard over there if they sided with the player. While we are not powerless, I donât know what to do with China hence why let them deal with it.
Cuz haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate
Players gonna play play play
I already pay for the game so no one can stop me
I pay money to play game, not to get involve with politics
If you really hate China so much maybe next time you go to Walmart, only buy stuff thatâs not made in China
It is absolutely pathetic that so many had to have a Hearthstone player get punished over his comments for them to finally look further away than their keyboard and monitor and latest video game obsession to notice any of this.
Newflash: China has been like this for a very, very long time. Christ, if any of you are at least 30 years old, 1989 would like to say âHi.â
Iâm sure you learned about that little Chinese event in school if youâre younger. If you paid attention long enough, anyway.
I bet the Halloween event is late because Blizzard is having to make a new short of Mei being shot by a Chinese firing squad for being a counter revolutionary. Then they can remove her from the game.
Itâs amazing how much americans care for things that are none of their concern.
