Iâm not exactly boycotting blizzard games that i already paid for.
Iâm not spending on blizzard products anymore though.
You do you, just donât be a whale. lol

No, enjoy what you will. Those people are just overzealous. Personally, I feel it is enough just to understand how scummy they are and think twice about products that are not âmust haves.â For instance, if you just watch Blizzcon for fun or sort of want that Genji skin, maybe consider skipping it. That is the approach I take, personally, but by no means do you have to.
I believe neutral parties are completely fine. The people who actually defend Blizzard, they should be ashamed, but people like that lack all sorts of awareness to the point where that is asking too much. It is really best to just ignore them, but I certainly cannot help but make fun of them. It makes me feel so superior knowing that basic common sense stances with mininal empathy make me a good person.
No. Cowards are the ones who only âstand up forâ causes as long as they donât have to go outside. Theyâre out in force today.
Iâd feel bad for playing, but Iâm not judging people. I hope they change course.
you do you, but i dont see why people are hating on the people protesting. people complacently turning a blind eye to aggressive dictatorships has never really worked out well if you look at history.
no of course not
not taking a stand because you just want to play OW in peace is fine
You are perfectly free to do what ever you want.
I cant pretend it didnt happen and I wont. That boy didnt deserve this. Idk I dont know you, but to me its like hanging out with a guy that abuses his wife and saying ââits none of my buisness hes a fun guy otherwise, I enjoy hanging out with him, so Ill pretend he isnt an abusive Aholeââ.
Donât sweat it, I doubt people will stick with it for that long anyway.
Have you guys ever seen that one meme image of a âBoycott Modern Warfareâ group on Steam showing all the people part of it playing Modern Warfare?
EDIT: Here it is.

Anyone who tries to label you as âXâ for something they morally feel compelled to respond needs to hold themselves to the same standard. Just because they say so doesnât make it so
Nobody (or at leats very few) people are hating the people who are protesting for doing so. Theyâre simply annoyed due to the number of topics. Everyone is allowed to voice their opinions, boycott blizzard, etc, but you cannot openly cause problems for everyone else trying to use a service (e.g. this private forums), for the same reason that a group of vegans blocking the entrance to a butcher shop is going to get them in trouble when customers canât get in.
ok
but i feel a lot more comfortable with admiring bravery or self-sacrifice than looking down on the lack thereof
Being an Overwatch fan is tough right now. Blizzardâs actions were obscene and itâs understandable that people want to boycott their products. On the other hand the artists and programmers who actually design and build the games had no involvement in Chungâs punishment, and many of them are against it.
I wouldnât blame someone for wanting to continue appreciating the work of the creators. I havenât yet decided what Iâm going to do myself.
I donât know much about the situation but I do not think that what some higher ups of blizzard decide or think affects what we enjoy here.
Blizzard is more than some âevil greedy business peopleâ. They also have a designer team, people who make soundeffects and music, janitors, middle management people, ppbly an inside cafe, marketing, PR, lore people etc. for different games.
There are most likely a lot of good-hearted, passionate employees who love their job.
Turning your back to something you love what they created just because a few have decided something⌠Idk.
I donât know if I have some kind of naive thinking but I see the passion, the love in details, the funny jokes in WoW in the description of grey, useless item. Its not like everyone there is greedy (as some forum posts say in the past years).
I appreciate what I have.
I mean⌠Blizzardâs games also connect so many players over the whole world. We can discuss here what we like, share tips, make funny threads etc. Some people even find real, good friends in Blizzard games and might even have a happy marriage.
I think it is wrong to take a position just because something happened (decided by a few) in a country with conditions, one of us from western countries might not be able to really understand.
Thatâs not even the guy youâre hanging out with, though.
That guy owns a construction company, and employees of his company finished building your favorite bowling alley three years ago. Now you find out that guy did some stuff you think is pretty nasty. You can still go hang out with your friends in the bowling alley, and that guy wonât even know the difference.
Tbh your example doesnt work at all here.
He knowingly violated Blizzardâs ToS, already has another deal for a different card game, Iâm sure people are gonna slap together a Go Fund Me for him too. I donât exactly feel bad for someone that knew exactly what they were doing when they did it.
Youâre right, I should have added:
Your friends happen to be the same employees who built the building.
No. You are not a coward. No, do not be ashamed of being an OW fan.
I was a massive OW fan back in the day. Until they started neglecting the base game in favor of OWL. And after the mass firings earlier this year, it was the last straw. I do not want to support a company that treats itâs own workers as numberâs on a sheet so Bobby Kotick can get a thicker wallet. ActiBlizz only cares about money, and will sacrifice almost anything to get it. Blizzard was one of my favorite companies and i supported them since the launch of Warcraft 3. But they are not who they used to be.
No. Not everyone has it in them to be an activist. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to be one.
Blizzard did nothing but implement their terms of service, it had nothing to do with the specific situation.
Play the game because people are making it out to be something that it isnât based on poor understanding and narrow sighted views.
