You missed by point completely.
Was talking about a universe with Roadhog as the dps, trying convinve you, he needs to be moved to a tank.

I think a significant part of it is that Mei’s wall usage is so freeform that you get out of it what you can imagine.
For instance, a lot of people have no concept of the idea that when your team is in Attack approaching the last point on 2CP. Just throw up a wall between your team and the enemy, slam on speedboost and walk to the point in 5seconds and arrive with a 100% health rein barrier.
Instead of a rein barrier that’s 80% shredded by the time it gets there.
I believe others have stated this as well, but this is area denial and not taking an area like tanks are supposed to do.
This is why I considered Mei a true defense hero.
Mei needs more changes, proper changes, if her class is being changed to tank and should take areas. The proposed changes doesn’t cut it.
Okay. Well a dps Hog likely would not have the same kit he has now. For the same reasons as what it would take to make him a dps.
You need to learn what Wall Sniping is.
Wall sniping?
I know what normal sniping is, which is hitting targets on a long range, but I will have to look up what “wall sniping” is, because I have never heard of it before and I doubt if it’s even a real thing.
Edit:
Nope, I can’t a find a single thing about it.
I have never heard of it as well, and I have played a fair amount of other FPS’ers like COD, QUAKE, CSGO, BF and TF2.
It’s when you put up a wall up from a distance to prevent people from moving forward.
Like putting up a wall on a doorway, to prevent a healer from healing her teammate.
I have only ever heard of that referred to as walling off, no matter the distance. And that is area denial not space taking.
…
No offense, but this does sounds made up, but I totally get what you mean.
Can Symmetra and Reaper teleport snipe?
Pro used this term in the past… don’t have time to find it.
Have this instead:
People not hearing an obscure term =/= does not how to use Ice Wall.
I have never heard that term and I watch league plenty. And I feel like if a lot of them used it, it would be easy to google like some of their other terminology such as “flex support.”
I feel like maybe someone you watched used it once and you overestimated the spread of it.
A pro, or multiple pros?
I really have never heard anyone calling it wall sniping since this game has launched. This is honestly the first time I hear about it.
Well, either way, it doesn’t matter if (some?) pros say it, it isn’t exactly a term that is used in this game or by the majority of the community.
It was the best mei main at the time.
(when she wasn’t popular.)
You can’t convince me because you guys are saying Mei is a tank fullstop
That’s not true, I provided reasons why
I don’t believe a lot of people here understand what makes a tank a tank, but that’s just me. I play a lotta tanking and play all of them regularly but D.va and Zarya.
I like to think I understand why the tanks are the way they are, and why Mei does not fit into the category as she currently is built.
I feel like if your gonna tell someone to learn some advanced tech, you should provide a basic description anyway. Prevents situations like this where you may think a term is used more broadly than it is, but also just makes it come across less elitist…
Just my opinion about using obscure terms
Overpowered in the OWL… maybe?
If that’s the case and you want to make a case for balancing the game at that level than the correct way to do it would be to make her weaker but viable.
You’re just making her objectively worse and unviable at the top because you think she’s annoying, which is stupid =_=“
I think a lot of people don’t understand the difference between area denial and space taking, tbh.
A lot of people would say Tracer and Genji are unfair and unfun to play against.
In fact people will say this about every meta dps because metas tend to cover for weaknesses.
Mei is OP, end of story. No Tank, no off-tank, no support. She is OP. I hadn’t touched her for 1.5 year (I had stopped OW for a year anyways), and yesterday I experienced the easiest carry of my life with her. She has:
This is just OP and the reason is not just the buffs, but the game’s evolution because people have adjusted to her secondary fire and she is dangerous in any range.
Easy ways to balance her (not all together ofc):
Mei is not that far off from balanced. She needs a nerf to bring her inline, obviously. But nothing so drastic as most of these changes, would dumpster her.
