“Chill bro, it’s just comp”

…what’s the point in this reply?
We were just having fun and playing the game until someone turned sour because we were playing to win.

Yes… So?

What is “not fun” in playing sombra? Sombra is fun to play hero, there is nothing wrong with picking her.

i get the sense most people really hate counterpick. Ik its been a discussion for a while and it should be expected in a hero shooter, but i think most people just really really dont like having to switch off their favorite character to counter play someone. I personally dont mind because i came from LoL and other games where counterpicking at higher level of play is common, but I get the sense that people really hate everything around it

there is a way they could do hero banning but at this point in the balance and design of the game, hero bans would go horrible imo

Thanks for proving their point…

Why is it tryhards, the word should be trywins, because how are your trying hard when they suck… Zen rofl I would of played moira and ruined sombra’s day… More so if i was venting about sombra…

lol Indeed. If you’re staying on Zen vs a Sombra, you’re just asking to be farmed.

Sounds about right. Even in gm you’re lucky if you get anyone comming or coordinating. Blizzard tries to address toxicity, but only succeeds in giving the worst players in overwatch tools to grief. Starts with qp, bleeds into comp. Rinse and repeat for each season.

It wont improve because a significant majority of this playerbase isn’t interested in improving or learning or helping their team. And if you try to get someone to do anything that might help your team, well get ready for those reports.

The playerbase has always been a problem. It’s worse in OW2. Your experience just highlights how bad its gotten. Is that from free to play? Blizzard policies? I can tell you hitbox/projectile/hitscan size increases certainly didn’t help the issue. It’s a bit of a mess and given Blizzard’s stance on things I’m not sure it can ever be dealt with properly.

It’s not a trend, it is what it is.
A videogame, not a job there to stress you. It works better on some individuals.

Everything you just wrote was absolute nonsense.

If you’re that convinced, then explain why DaedraWA’s reply wasn’t nonsense.

Or I could just quietly snicker at you.

Many if not most young people dont vote. It’s the oldies or boomers as you say that vote mostly.

That might be changing this year with the youngens (millenials and below) learning they actually need to vote to make the change they want.

Well, if youre in usa that is. So I hear.

In Aus we’re forced to vote at 18 or get slapped with a fine. But for the longest time I just voted for the same thing my boomer dad did because I never cared about politics. Much of my friends were the same.

Covid and the ridiculous restrictions changed that for me though. The party that my dad and thus myself always voted for (called Liberal but basicaly right wing), the prime minister unlawfully appointed himself as the head of 5 different positions so he could force ridiculous laws and regulations.

The corruption runs so deep here :upside_down_face:

DaedraWA replied to my post with zero reasoning and now you’re trolling for entertainment. Doing a lot of good defending them?

I prefer to think of it as highlighting the irony.

I do think it’d be better if people in any mode played OW2 like it’s a team-based shooter with an objective though.

Yeah no they are right. Idc whether that’s the easiest way to win or not. Idc if it’s how the game works. It shouldn’t work that way. It’s extremely scummy and shows you have no skill to win without doing everything in your power to counter and make the tank player hate playing their hero. It is pathetic because they can’t win the even matchup and have to rely on pressing H to win games.

Countering is not ‘try Harding.’ It’s taking the easy way out.

Yeah for the servers and rank I play in, comp is the chiller mode. It’s not that people won’t whine about swaps (they do and will regardless) but that I see much less toxicity in comp than what I see in QP.

It’s reversed from OW1. Weirdchamp.

This is a huge problem. The hardest counters can only be soft countered or not at all.

It’s just players that are bad needing to make up some excuse to make themselves feel better. They’ve heard other bad players try to use it as an insult and then just parrot them without realizing what they are saying.

“You sweaty try hard” is a weird attempt at an insult in either comp or QP.
It’s basically calling themselves out (especially when said in comp) as being bad. They might as well be saying “Oh, so you’re playing the competitive game as intended and that’s the only reason you are beating me. If I was trying, it would be different, but I don’t want to try too hard, so… yeah.”

Imagine anyone saying this in any other competitive sport. Chess, basketball, whatever.
“Oh okay Michael Jordan… you’re only winning because you are trying so hard.”
You mean… I’m playing the game. Yeah.
Sorry I’m better than you…??

They don’t realize it’s insulting to themselves and not at all to the player they are trying to call out.

I don’t play a lot of qp, but jumped into a game the other night and someone called our team a bunch of try hards. Which was even more funny because I jumped into qp to chill. I was basically playing as casual as I could, but still play the game.
Who even gets mad in QP?
