“Chill bro, it’s just comp”

Can’t say I disagree with anything you said here. Looks like it’s time for me to move on to pastures new for good.

Exactly. Kids these days want something and feel like they deserve it NOW. Anyone standing in the way of that is a spoilsport or ‘cringe’…even when they are playing a game where the actual objective is to not let your enemy win.

Im going to go further into this and say that in general, no one wants to be competitive for the sake of not getting a stigma that they are try harding, or dare I say it? TOXIC. Sad reality is being competitive is the root to accomplishing great things and not just in video games.

It’s not like gaming was any better 10 years ago in this regard.

It’s called the next generation and they’re losers. Everything is supposed to be easy mode for them and nothing earned. This is why games are shifting more towards reloading your weapon getting you killed, getting lucky and picking up a certain weapon being a free kill spree, rock/paper/scissors type class balance, etc. The less skill has to do with winning the more losers can feel like winners or at lest feel competent.

I tend to agree with them. Competitive mode is still just a video game meant to be fun. It’s not real life and there are no consequences of failing. Nobody should be getting wound up from playing.

Well, being competitive isn’t toxic. You can be competitive without insulting others, screaming, etc.

It’s notnclear of you hold view that being competitive = toxic, or that’s something you observed. But that’s just straight up wrong.

I blame the older generation for the trash housing market. If blackrock isn’t buying up the houses, it’s boomers looking to rent them out. -_-

There’s another way of saying it it: Crony capitalism. When done correctly, capitalism can be fair. Sadly, the CEO’s are maintaining a facade that things are fair when, in reality, they have control over the entire country

While I do agree in principle, if you’re not taking the game seriously, wouldn’t unranked be the mode more suited to that mindset? If “fun” is what this videogame (or any i suppose) is for, whats the rationale playing comp then, if winning doesnt matter?

Which is why in practice I agree with OP.

“It’s just” players need to be permanently banned from this game.

This is happening in real life as well. The game just mirrors what is going on in the actual world.

Hello 2016, good to see you again

The more Blizzard caters to the kids who grew up not keeping score, the worse this is going to become unfortunately. They never learned what competition is and why it’s fun to face a challenge.

That’s why Blizz is more focused on banning people who say bad words than people who stand in spawn waving for half the game. Gotta protect the fragile egos at the expense of maintaining a competitive multiplayer game.

It’s stemming from the same crowd that says “it’s just QP bro, chill” and those that support that mentality, as if throwing in any mode is acceptable

Give an inch, they take a mile. Nothing matters eventually.

Oh yeah, for sure.

But the question was for the game, so…

Game direction is a more casual one ever since the new leadership made changes that led to the OW2 downgrade. And it keeps getting more so every time they make major changes.

This literally reads like boomer rhetoric. Please stop.

Agreed. I just normally find that what happens in real life eventually makes it way into games as well :frowning:

Why?

What isn’t true in what I said?

Are you saying all of those things are not true or not happening?
