'your system does not support higher settings'

I just updated my Dell laptop today and when I logged in all the game graphics got set on low with this message.

I already tried going to the 3D settings in my graphics card control panel and set “General settings” to performance but it didn’t work.

Specs (that I think are relevant)
Windows 10 Pro
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 usable)
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64 based processor

Hey Banshee,

Can you post you DxDiag for us to look over?

DxDiag:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type DxDiag and press Enter.
  3. In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
  4. Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save
  5. Paste the DxDiag into the post, select and highlight everything you just pasted, and hit the “code” button (</>). That’ll make the information much more readable.

If you are unable to post this, please feel free to use pastebin.com and share the link with us instead.

(provide the code from the pastebin link - the bold portion of this example: https://pastebin.com/ Qk28Ed1P)

Couldn’t post here because it’s too long so here:

Looks like the AMD driver being used is from 2016, which would likely be the reason for the issue in-game.

Lets try updating that to the latest version:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-r9-series/amd-radeon-r9-300-series/amd-radeon-r9-m390x

Expand the Windows 10 - 64 bit section and download / install the Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.7.5 Optional driver.

That worked!
Just installed it and logged in and the graphics were automatically set back on high.

Thank you Jambrix.

Glad to hear it! No problem at all.
