Wild swings in FPS on iMac 2019 with 10.15.5

Hi, Coming back to HOTS after 2 years off (been playing other games like League of Legends which runs flawlessly).

Installed it on a iMac 5k 27" 2019 (3.6GHz 8 core i9, 32 GB Mem, Radeo Pro Vega 48 with 8GB) running 10.15.5

I’m seeing stuttering which I’ve traced down to wild swing in the frame rate rating from 195 FPS to drops of 30FPS.

I’m running at 1920x1080 with vertical sync off. This happens at both the defaults (which defaults to high) and when I manually set the shader quality to low and texture (and every thing else to to medium).

The wild swings are unpredictable where it will run fine for a 10 or 15 seconds, then when some action happens drops and swings.

This is happening on several different maps including the brawl.

Also no backups were happening.

Any ideas what is going on and how to correct it.

our Mac is almost same spec except I have 128 GB ram on it
try update your OS to macOS big sur

Just as soon as it ships in Fall I will. :slight_smile:

The swings have narrowed over time from 190-80 fps, but are still there.
