Why not keep the old tassadar and create a new hero?

Because the support role is a terrible role and is just as flawed as og specialist. It’s too confusing, too open. What qualifies as a support? Abathur and TLV being in the same category as Zarya and Tassadar and medivh. it just causes matchmaking problems.

They are the same. Zarya can get changes to become more useful with hypercarries though honestly it’s good it’s snuffed out completely. No hero should amplify a hypercarries ability. I don’t consider that a role, that was nothing but a flaw that was unbalanced and broke the game many times.

Brightwing and Lucio are the same cause they both use passives with no Mana to do AoE heals over time.

Well, we should just delete Zarya now cause we have Abathur. Why have Zarya shielding when Aba does the same right.

Blizz, please delete Zarya.

This isnt QM matchmaking. Aba medivh are in the same category.
But Zarya isnt, she is on the weird category where thrall is

Abathur’s core support isn’t shielding though. It’s being a hat and dealing damage while also laying mines.

Tass core support WAS SHIELDING

Zarya core support is… SHIELDING

Stop bringing up moot points. This is getting very old.

If you got rid of aba’s shields he’d still be a support.

Get rid of zarya’s shields she’d become a bruiser.

Got rid of Tass shields he becomes a oh huh… a freaking assassin!

Gheeze you people never think!

I would unistall he moment one hero i regulary play gets dumbed down to generic state and people tell me to go play an OW instead.

Well you have that right. No one is gonna stop ya. And no one is gonna care.

No, boy, don’t talk about it. Supporting the role is the best role for this game and it has a lot of fans. This role requires special creativity and skill, and it is not terrible at all, and Tasdar was a different face from the others …

So many fans with the least amount of players playing them. Most supports are barely played aside in competitive where they are played not because of popularity but simply because they offer ways to break the game in ways that other heroes cannot. But in any other mode… no one really plays supports.

This problems can be solved and removing a roll is not logic at all.

This is where you are wrong. Zarya main thing is getting energy to boost her damage. You’d never pick Zarya because you wanted shield, you’d pick Tass for that.

Like, you can like the rework, you can hate, but you can never say that Zarya and Tass shields were the same or even were picked for the same purposes. This is extremely wrong.

If you want to solve them by all means let’s see what you can do.

Zarya dealing damage is not why she is in the support role though. She is there because of her shield. I am not saying what other roles she provides I am strictly talking about supporting.

Originality -10/10 …

I am just trying to discuss reason here. You people keep whining about the old Tassadar and not seeing how this change has really freed him to potentially become something great.

Then we go back to all mages can be removed cause 1 is enough to do damage. Your arguments are pretty bad.

And again, if you wanted shields you’d NEVER EVER draft Zarya. You would draft Zarya because of the SIEGE potential she brings, not shields.

I disagree. Tassadar’s shield is certainly critical to his support kit, but I think that it is more the baseline combination of what he brings that stands out:

  • Waveclear
  • Revealing an area <= super important
  • Shields
  • Slow

Then, a choice between battlefield manipulation (Force Wall) or some damage on demand (Archon).

That is an interesting and useful kit, right there.

If they took away the shield but left everything else, and added an aura effect or something in its place, he would still be a powerful support. Shields alone do not define Tassadar.

I know you don’t care, that nothing anyone can say has ever convinced you of anything that goes against your own aggressive assertions, and that you enjoy putting people down, but…I’m just saying.

That’s not true you do draft zarya for shields. Where do you get this info from? Not drafting her for her shields, ahaha. Her shield is bloody massive. And again, with Tassadar gone she can be changed to better fit the role.

The thing about damage is it can be a far more diverse role than someone who lays shields on a single target.

They did take away shields and kept everything else though. He still has oracle, he still has waveclear, he still has a slow and it’s even stronger now. His forcewall is a basic ability now, and he has a new cc ult.

But what is he classified as now? An Assassin.

Look, if you gave him a new support ability, yes he’d become a support again. But that just proves my point. he is only a support because he has a support ability… being his shields, or whatever new thing you want to give him.
