this just really annoys me… i consider someone who is very map aware, looking the minimap at least once ever 3-5 secs looking where is everybody on the map, if someone struggle doing camp i help him, if a lane is not being soaked I go there, if there is an obj, i will be roaming near there, anyways, but very much often i find enemy teammates wants me more than my own team, if im doing a camp, if im covering a lane, if i can be seen by enemies, they will instantly want jump on me (even if im on my own zone), anywyas, ally team notices that im doing a camp, but there is somone of the enemy team (lest says lucio) and now he knows im doing that camp alone, i pong help but nobody came, they pong me to retreat but i was like wtf… and 30 seconds later i had a lucio a garrosh and a gm on me… i was like wow… is this like lol? later the same in smalls maps of 2 lanes or in aram, when enemy team can see you easy while doing camps… sometimes just looks like enemy team cares more about me than my own :/, this usually ends in a sad loss… on the other hand when i find a very supportive team, we usually won they’re usually good at meachanics, and help with pings over the map (this says they’re always looking the minimap) also they have high hero/siege dmg, or have high kills low deaths… anywyas im not sure, maybe is because i draft butcher in rankeds and they get tilted instantly bc they dont want a butcher in their team… and they think “fk this wood fanboi butcher F tier character will make me lose on my rankds” and maybe thats why i feel they dont care about “that” teammate xD
There can be trolls on both teams but it just boils down to who has most of them sadly.
You can use pings
Ult is ready
Enemy is missing
Mana is low
I think it’s a combination of variables.
-
Abusable report system = people turn off chat or risk losing their purchases.
-
Tutorial does nothing to help new players. It’s one of the worst tutorials I’ve ever seen in a game.
-
It’s a F2P game, F2P typically attracts…uhhh…how do I say this without violating the ToS? F2P attracts people who typically aren’t thinking about things like map awareness, teamwork or whatever.
-
In my experience Blizzard games tend to attract a specific crowd. Not exclusively…lots of good people play Blizzard games but imo there’s a subculture within Blizzard titles that are worse than most toxic nerds in other communities. To put in in simple terms: Blizzard games attract Redditors.
-
Game is in maintenance mode which pushed away a lot of players who would have otherwise stayed.
They can still be reported though especially if it’s ‘‘abusable’’
What’s wrong with people of Reddit?
Sure you can get reported for other stuff but it takes a stupid amount of reports for you to get hit with anything but the harassment suspension. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of it happening before outside of super fringe cases.
Reddit perpetuates extreme toxicity, arrogance and hivemind mentality. A lot of Redditors are not great people.
I saw quite a lot of threads here saying ‘‘hey I’ve been suspended but I got chat off and I never type!’’
I check sometime for health advice, books ideas, food, movies or anything and most of people seem nice, try to help and share their experience. Mods seem pretty actives to check who are toxic. Maybe the gaming communities on Reddit are more toxic, I didn’t check much. Some people insulted you on Reddit?
I wouldn’t believe people here. Lots and lots of trolls. Plus people lie.
If you’re looking for niche things like what you listed, yeah, not as bad…but anything related to gaming or politics turns into a mess real fast. Movies can be bad too, depending. I don’t care about the insults, that’s just children being weird. I get pretty pissed when people start sending suicide prevention links as harassment though.
You cant get reported for abuse chat if chat is closed on a player. You can still report him for spam ping if he does it tho. I have had my chat closed for two years and no punishment yet.
people do not even listen to pings so it’s useless
This is true in many ways. Most likely you’re going against pre-mades or they have a team comp that synergizes better than yours.
I’ve gotten reported once because I wouldn’t participate in their 3v5 with 2-3 levels down. I would ping the team, hey let’s catch up in exp and then contest the next obj but get sweared at. But some games, people understand this and no need to even type anything.
This is the life of a solo QMer. But i still have fun.
This is absurd as saying,
which I know to be false just as what you said above.
My experience differs, people tend to listen to pings more often that not.
Reminds me of all the 4 stackers I have played with who had a DVA on thier team who would act like a baby everytime I did not feed with them. The last one I had called me honey whole game like she treated me like a doll. Then two days later I got silenced for 4 days casue I was dumb enough to respond to her so her 4 stack fangirls could report me.
Had chat turned off ever since casue I know for a fact that 80% of my games are with toxic players that act like they are better then you while feeding 10+ times.
Then you have been lucky. When I ping people 70% of the time they ignore it cause they are either bad/a troll/or got pings and chat turned off so they can mindless feed afk a lane.
Then why do they respond to my pings? I usually playing solo
Extremely lucky imo. I would say majority of my pings are ignored. The ones that do listen dont even need pings they already know what to do.
That is very easy. Premades vs randoms is what this game is all about.
I suspect it’s bias.
When you win, you feel good about yourself - and, hopefully, your team - performing well.
When you lose, you notice the issues.
You don’t know about the issues on the other side and after a few losses, a win is not great, it’s expected.
Such as, I had 10 wins in a row yesterday with Jaina, it was great. I didn’t send roses to the Blizzard office though. However, if I lose the next 10 matches, I’ll definitely be sad.
Quite likely, some of those wins weren’t just good performance, but at least also had a few people having disconnected, or otherwise messed up.
Grammar question
Is this correct? It feels weird. Messing, mess… but it’s “having A or B”, so A and B should be the same tense. I can’t name but it’s some version of past perfect.
I have very few wins where I feel good about it because a very large majority of matches I win are just complete stomps. By that same token, I very seldom get frustrated with losing because it becomes very obvious that my team is outclassed from the get go.
I would say it’s less than 1 in 5 matches, but more than 1 in 20 where the teams feel evenly matched and my efforts will actually have an impact on the outcome of the match. These are the only matches I enjoy when I win or feel down if I lose because I know that whether I played well or poorly impacted the outcome.
Not me tho. Most wins and loses feels the same and bad, because it’s either crush them or get crushed (5 to 20+ death). But I agree that tilting moments are real and they can influence your performance in a negative way.
This could be a case for continuous past instead of past perfect. The disconnections and messing up, while a past event, were happening through the game played previously, but when not two separate events of one and then the other.
“…some of those wins weren’t just good performance, but… also had people disconnecting or otherwise messing up.”
This could also be written as:
“…some of those wins weren’t just good performance, but… also had people [that] disconnected or messed up”
