Please stop trying to fault me for the double-standard that you’re trying to impose on me.
Examples of References used:
HotS has a history of projecting that “hypermobility” killed “melee assassins” as a role. They tend to be harder to play, offer a lower reward (despite the risk) and the role as a ‘finisher’ is done better by heroes that have an escape method to get back out again.
I also already hinted at the coming ‘joke’ in the previous section as neither Yrel, nor Chen, are actually “Support” heroes despite having abilities that allow them to enable/protect allies.
There’s also a blue quote around the internet that Blizz did try an iteration of Genji as melee, but they decided to give him attack range and switch the classification so his basic attack is throwing stars instead of swinging his sword(s).
Genji tends to lack other qualities that make him function as a “ranged” damage dealer and people have complained that QM could be better if he – and Tracer – weren’t considered a “ranged hero” for their match and would rather have other roles for matching waveclear potential, or other factors to make the game ‘more fair’. There’s also advice that he has to be in ‘melee’ range to actually deal damage with his Q build.
So between the context, content, references, my own disdain for Genji, and posting memes, I have now made a gaff* for this response.
Long Rant
My post history has references to:
Zelda games
metroivanias (like castlevania and metroid)
Souls-likes
Survivor-likes
“Fighting Games”
DotA and Dota 2
other Blizzard games
phone/mobile games
JRPGs
and a slew of other productions available via the Steam library;
A number of players account levels far exceed my own since I don’t play HotS much since it’s more stressful than it is fun.
I frequently suggest that people expand their own experiences instead of having chronic complainers pretend Blizzard/HotS are the only games available for them to be the epitome of their complaint. I generally decry topics that assert Hots is the “worst” because worse things are out there as I frequently play all sorts of other games, and I don’t have time to be smurfing on the magical infinite accounts some people expect me to have despite the evidence that I split my time across a lot of hobbies and use those experiences to influence my writing.
Cool, you had a great game as Uther however long ago when I played Rag, and you posted a shout-out in a topic I generally don’t read so people that frequently derive grief from the falsehoods the conjure about me can have a ‘safe-space’ in meta-forums.
Since the forums don’t have a #hashtag_shoutout feature to get my attention, when I later stumbled on the post, I didn’t bump the topic since people tend to try to emphasize derogatory intent by misspelling my moniker, as you have since done several times now. I left the possibility open that you were being ‘sarcastic’ and simply left a 'Like" and didn’t bump the topic as I generally refrain from self-references. I have a hard time dealing with stress and anxiety, and sometimes slowing things down to write a ‘wall’ is a way to escape from that by posting advice that I encourage myself to take when I read it at a later time.
Otherwise, I generally refrain for responding to things about [Xenterex] unless it is to try to address misconceptions and grievances.
I’m not the ‘smartest’, nor have I eve professed as such, I’m just a written sample of someone who’s willing to look something up before I drown in my own biases.
For example, I look up Sami’s guide to forum syntax when I made posts for adding extra features; I don’t know most of these things, but I can copy/paste them to suit it accordingly.
