I’m getting games that have an Abathur on BOTH teams.
And its getting rare not to see one on at least 1 team.

Ever like ever ever, why? He’s like a horrible space slug. He is like the brain bug from starship troopers.
This has been addressed in other threads. First of all we have all heroes free rotation, as Abathur is 10k gold, it’s not unexpected that many players who are new to him are trying him out.
As for him being mirrored, he’s a support and by all accounts the most popular support. The QM rules try to match the support role for each team, but there are far fewer Medivh, Zarya and TLV players, so it will more likely mirror Abathur in games.
There are a few other heroes it tries to match with Abathur, but if they will be matched instead of a mirror depends of their popularity and who is queuing at the time.

Because this hero draws bad players like fire draws moths. Players who have no micro skills, bad macro and basically want to afk while not getting kicked out. If you call them out they can always appeal to “u dont understand aba lololo”
In other words it attracts people who want to larp a ‘strategy game’ and make one slow move every 60 seconds.
It’s not a hero problem because Abathur himself is great and he is one of the best heroes in the game when played good. A good Abathur decides teamfights, hats at the right time, has a lot of exp and gives his team vision with toxic nests.
It’s a player base problem. How do we make him less popular is the real question. Given his skill ceiling he should be at Probius levels of pick rate, not the current mess where he is mirrored every damn match.
Arguably, all these listed are fairly bad.
- Zarya has potential, just a bit quirky. But so is Aba. I don’t really see her role except in the rotations meta. Solo laner? Not using Shield Ally. Mid brawl? Her damage isn’t exactly matching that of an assassin. Or she is wasting her shields to troll, in which case she doesn’t use them, she is just a very complicated mage.
- TLV requires certain skills. I tried to play them, quickly reverted to playing together, it was fine until it wasn’t.
- Medivh, well, is Medivh. I guess he works in Masters.
So yeah. Abathur. I think I got him on every match yesterday.

from my few qm games yesterday a msall count until aba (no heroes with less occurence)

just saying…
People dont check the forums for existing threads. They would rather make thier own so his own voice also gets heard. Even tho that means he makes a thread that already are 30 of already.
It’s simply that all heroes are free to play until March 30th. Abathur is a unique hero that everyone wants to try. Wait it out until April and there will be less of this.

The thing is (you probably already know) when you make a new thread, if there are other threads that are similar it will show them to you and ask if your sure you want to make a duplicate.
I guess people instantly click the X to close the dialogue box.
