What if Amove was gone, completely?

So you have to rightclick on the hero to AA, not somewhere nearby.
Unfun chore or welcomed skill floor increase?

I can’t really see it as being a meaningful skill floor increase. It would be a matter of retraining muscle memory, and stutter-stepping might be slightly more challenging on melee heroes. It would be something I would live with, but see no reason to incorporate.

Was there something specific that made you think of this?

My friend had his settings set to this baseline. 10/10 would not recommend for a new ranked zeratul player (good enough at him to play ranked not good enough to carry with him).

Simple “what if?”, I dont really expect it to happen.

Which setting? No Amove? Well, thats the point, to make the game more difficult.

that would be interesting to have in hots. making the game more difficult is good at least that’s my own opinion


I’d go from diamond to gold tier

Ranged AA players now randomly go within melee range of the enemy tank and get vaporized by misclicking once.
Sounds painful

This, I have fudged up a lot of times with mis clicks.

Also I wouldnt call it raising skill and instead just call it increasing the frustration level.

I would not be able to main Zul’jin anymore. Or play really any Ranger hero.

I don’t have the consistent click accuracy not to get my :peach: killed by missing the hero I’m hitting, and stutter-stepping while kiting backwards would be basically impossible.

not really a stop or hold would/could just replace the AMove to prevent that

I always rightclicked to AA between each stutter step, because I learned it that way after installing hots. Very different to play any other way now.

But yes, of course it leads to a few missed AA’s or misclicks every now and then especially in packed teamfights (or you hit the wrong target). And on fast AA heroes it hurts to do.

Adding a 6th enemy to the opposing team: controls

It’s no different than the control group sizes in BW/WC3. Though at least BW has a better excuse than WC3.

Also, skill floor increases are generally not a good thing (not to be confused with the skill ceiling).

I’d be screwed. It’s hard enough to click on heroes and actually register an attack command half of the time. Attack-Move is useful in close quarters, and very helpful on particular heroes.

I have this setting for 5 years now
Its somehow the most consistent for me

It would be both a skill floor increase and a not fun chore. Few would welcome it though lol. I imagine even pros would find it unnecessary.

The presence of last hit was something I found completely stupid in other MOBAS. It takes up so much brain real estate, to constantly worry about killing your own minions to deny, but it DOES take more skill. It’s just, is that a skill you actually want to highlight though? Why not use that skill to spend ways to actually kill your enemy, which makes more intuitive sense?

There have been suggestions in the past where people want A move to auto target heroes, and I draw the line at that. I used to play SC1 without knowing about attack move, and when I found out about it, I was like, no way. My micro was pretty on point without it that once I started using it, it felt like cheating lol.

I use that now for slower aa hereos.

Not any faster than a move i just find it easier for them. Now faster aa hereos a move or make it you left click works great

My gut reaction is that it would be a fair bit annoying.
My second thought is that it would be something like Diablo.
Except for the enemies moving around like crazy.

I’m fine with this change, if the following heroes are deleted from the game:

  • Tracer
  • Genji

Abilities to be replaced:

  • Hanzo
  • Illidan
  • Kharazim
  • The last remaining Bolts (ETC)

Required controls change:

  • Shift click (reconfigurable) for force attack as well as force move
    (would be welcome right now, actually)

Might have missed a few, but I guess you see the point.

ps.: What about summons. Also, some heroes don’t particularly rely on AA, while others do a lot.
